This is Track 11.5, a remake of Track 11 I created that uses strategically placed checkpoints to make the level exponentially harder. This is not a speedrun of the track; here are some optimizations I could have made (not including the obvious slowdowns):
- 0:16 - This wallgrind is necessary because by skipping over the "normal" route of Track 11, the player does not have enough speed when hitting the curb and cannot directly jump through the checkpoint. I have achieved times down to 1 minute and 7 seconds using the "normal" route to build up enough speed, but I believe that the skip + wallgrind route is still the fastest after being thoroughly optimized. I find that this part of the track works best on LOW FPS.
- 0:39 - Hitting the curb perfectly can allow for a much smoother jump directly through the checkpoint.
- 0:48 - This climb is easier at lower speeds, so it leaves a lot of interesting opportunities to balance consistency with completion time.
- 1:03 - It is possible to fly directly into the finish line, without touching any other parts of the track. I have been able to drive from the starting position directly to the finish line in about 16 seconds using this skip (i.e. the original Track 11 without any checkpoints). I am sure that this can be optimized further as well.
