Checking Out “Emily’s Bridge” in Stowe, VT
Another New England ghost story site, we visited “Emily’s Bridge” in Stowe, VT this weekend. According to legend (and the ghost story I read to Patsy one night last week, Emily was a beautiful young lady in Stowe who could have had her choice of suitors in the 1840s. She fell in love with a suitor who allegedly was sent away by his parents for getting another young lady pregnant. When it was discovered that Emily had also become pregnant, her beau fled instead of marrying her. Instead of explaining it to her father, she decided to hang herself at this very bridge.
Some say, at night you can still hear her voice late at night.

It’s pretty common to see seals in the wild off of Fort Popham in Maine. The seawater is around 56 degrees Fahrenheit which is a little chilly for us but ideal for these aquatic mammals.
At the 9/11 Memorial at Benson Park, Hudson, NH

We were in Hudson, New Hampshire at the 9/11 Memorial at Benson Park. Benson Park is an abandoned zoo as it turns out. It was taken over by the city and turned into a delightful park with lots of trails. All the animals are no longer there so it is safe. Bring bug spray if mosquitoes tend to like you as they like me. You’re looking at the corner of Main Street and Mollison Way in Lewiston where the bowling alley is that was the shooter’s target. Seven died there. Eleven died at the bar that was his second target. It’s looking out the right side of the car in both directions.
