Where to shop in Florence: Vintage stores and a visit to the Mall
Florence has amazing vintage shopping. For those hoping to venture away from the designer shops on Via de’ Tornabuoni, the city fortunately has a variety vintage stores that you can also visit. All ranging in style and price. Whether you’re looking for vintage Gucci heels or simply a good pair of Levi jeans, chances are you will find it in one of Florence’s vintage and secondhand shops. Alternatively, you can also visit ‘The Mall’.
In this episode I am going to show you a range of Vintage shops, where they are located and where to also get yourself a nice refreshment afterwards. Please also understand that many of these stores are luxury vintage shops so expect items to be expensive.”
Regardless of whether you’re looking to spend big or just window shop, knowing what you’re buying can definitely be helpful - it always pays to DYOR and have an understanding of current retail prices.

Desii Vintage (via de’ Conti 17, 19 + 21R) is one of Florence’s original secondhand clothing stores and defends its cause today, from Gucci to Chanel and back.
If you are looking to find mainly designer vintage at a good price (expect to pay in the hundreds), Desii might be just the place to start your hunt. The curated selection includes shoes, handbags, scarves and clothes of high-end and designer brands.
Although the prices are reflective of the brands they sell, they still give a great bargain on lightly used or simply resold items from designers like Burberry, Celine and Gucci.
Melrose Vintage’s large locations (via Nazionale 8 carry a variety of western feeling, 'rock ’n’ roll' and edgy pieces, including hundreds of vintage Levi’s, leather jackets, boots, accessories and more.
Some of the items definitely lean more towards the expensive or “designer” side of vintage clothing, so you just have to be more mindful of what you’re buying and if the price is reasonable for it.
Epoca (via dei Fossi 6R) is fully stocked with a curated selection of high-quality items, ranging from sequined ’80s sweaters to powerful investment pieces.
Out in the tuscan hills Tuscan hills, you can also visit the Mall. An open-air outlet mall where you can enjoy shopping for luxury fashion brands like Prada, Valentino and Gucci whilst possibly enjoying steep discounts of up to 50 percent but please do your research.Additionally, non-EU residents can get tax-free refunds by presenting their passports in exchange for tax-free receipts.
The Mall is open everyday and you can hop on the daily round-trip service from central Florence to get here. (Euro 15 for an individual return ticket).
Humana Vintage carries a variety of unbelievably well-priced and well-curated retro clothes, with all profits going to charitable projects in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Humana has two storefronts in Florence’s city center: via delle Belle Donne 4/6R
Humana Vintage is a small, but jam-packed store full of trendy vintage with 'Goodwill' prices ranging anywhere from five to 50 euros.
Florence’s Humana can be found tucked into a side street called Via delle Belle Donne and Humana is a more budget-friendly introduction to the Florence vintage scene.

Lovely video visit thank you. That said it isn't a good idea to buy jewelry from a shop, it loses most of it's value as soon as you leave the store ! My brother was a jeweler and he told me the mark ups on jewelry. The only place to get value for money is at auction and as for diamonds, go to India. I had my good jewelry made in Mumbai and I also bought several good pieces there in 18 and also 22 ct gold for a fraction of prices in Europe.
@@TheFiown Great feedback, thank you. I guess you would really need to be an ‘expert’ at auctions etc to ensure that what you bought was authentic- l don’t think l’d be confident enough? Having said that, nothing wrong with up-skilling. Have a great day. 😀
Italian leather is a scam, the leather is imported from Northern Nigeria ! The fashion houses in ITALY can no longer say Italian leather because of litigation, so genuine leather was adopted. God forbid they say Nigerian leather !
If you after genuine bespoke leather shoes, Stefano Bemer in Florence, is well known in the fashion world. Great video mate
@@sia5636 Cheers, thank you and will follow up with the Stefano Bemer recommendation too 😀
Nice place to stay, except for the cobra. I wonder how far the big ones are.
@@glennirwin4710 Exactly- l wouldn’t want to run into a ‘big boy’
What is the big "tail" you saw from Piazzale Michaelangelo?
The title of this video is very misleading! It suggests where to be in high places where to view the city from.
@@mibelloaleman thanks for your feedback- it was a play on words to encourage a visit to the Piazzale Michelangelo, as you know, it offers some of the best panoramic views of Florence - a ‘free’ room with a view.
Great video! Florence is the mostt beautiful city in the world. The only other place that is just as beautiful is Athens with the MOST BEAUTIFUL and MAJESTIC sight - the Parthenon, especially at sunset when the exquisite white marble turns golden. It is the MOST beautiful building on the planet! 🌞🙂
The "leather" in the San Lorenzo market is garbage! It comes from china (of course!) and Taiwan. I purchased some bags there and they all fell apart after a few months of use! It's NOT leather at all, but compressed materials to "look" like leather. However, my purchases from THE LEATHER SCHOOL, part of th Santa Croce Basilica complex, are the FINEST and GENUINE leather in ALL of Florence, and probably all of Italy. The products are handmade and you can see the craftsmen making them there. My purchases that are over 40 years old still look like new, still smell like leather, and soft as buttter! Save your money for The Leather School!! 🙂🌞
Going back home is always special. Nice to cool off a bit.
@@glennirwin4710 haha - bit of a contrast though
I do not understand why middle eastern men are selling Italian leather goods at the leather market. Just look. No Italians in sight. I will take my business to a genuine Italian leather shop where the family has been making them for generations. I wonder if these are Chinese imports. The Chinese do make designer fakes all the time. Why not Italian fakes?
