I hear that ceramic bearings are harder and more solid than steel since when u put load on a steel ball it becomes oval shaped making the roll a lil inconsistent and steel expands under heat and pressure and it corroids from water that can ruin the surface an make it more course and frictionless but a ceramic bearing ca maintain its sphere shape making the rolls more 80% consistent and more fiction which is why they roll faster and maintain monument since it don't corrod it can maintain a fine surface and hav a surface as slippery as marble, but ceramic can be to hard as rock which which makes very brittle and more prone to crack on high impacts while a steel bearing can actually absorb impacts which is why ceramic is more for speeds specialists and commuters while steel bearing are for more daredevils, pro skaters that whill do stair jumps or high impacts.

This proves nothing. Once you add a centrifugal load around the ceramic bearing, the spin duration will supersede the steel bearing. But clearly, a very experienced and educated engineer performed this spin test. 🙄

WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do nor buy this light or ANY OTHER Cateye headlight. I've bought 3 CATEYE headlights in the last year or so: 2 AMPP 100's and a Volt 1700. The 1100's were bought within 1 week or so and they BOTH stopped taking charges within 1 week of each other. Almost like they were programmed to do so. The Volt 1700 had a defectively designed base which caused it to go flying off into traffic which would then run over it. That was within 1 week. I sent them pictures after conferring with my bike shop...so they discontinued the light rather than fix the design. I called my Cateye area distributor over the defective charging system in their AMPP lights but they just blew me off too. The new AMPP 2200 looks very attractive, but I won't order it because it surely will be defective too. Good luck getting any warranty service for their made in China products.
