189: Unabridged Interview: Oliver Burkeman
This is our unabridged interview with Oliver Burkeman.
In an age full of lifehacks, self-help books, and productivity gurus, many of us only end up busier and more stressed than we were before. What if there’s a better way to live a full, fruitful life?
"The world is bursting with wonder,” says Oliver Burkeman, “and yet it's the rare productivity guru who seems to have considered the possibility that the ultimate point of all our frenetic doing might be to experience more of that wonder."
In this episode, he discusses his New York Times Bestselling book 4000 Weeks: Time Management for Mortals, dispelling many contemporary ideas about productivity, and instead suggesting a wonder-fueled, counterintuitive method for flourishing in the world.

Audrey, your voice is so beautiful, and you sing this hymn most beautifully. I pray your Christian faith will guide you through this lifetime, until one day we all will have voices as beautiful as yours. Then we can truly blend in chorus singing to our Lord and Saviour.

Not that I have listened to her music, all that much, but when I was young, I came across a cassette of her music which touched me in a deep way!! She has blessed people's lives in more ways than she will Ever know!! I will Forever be grateful for her testimony! Let me think, if I look around my house (now 40-some years later), I'll likely find that (cassette)!😊

Yes. The best thing that ChatGPT has done is vastly increase the public discourse about AI and make it a concern in every household with the space to think about these things. That's a very good sign. A lot of AI experts who aren't hyped up or selling something are also not doomsayers and do not believe AI will necessarily lead to social chaos.

That was an excellent interview.your deep questions brought out what I needed to hear from him. His books are a blessing for me as he is a deep thinker and a person of a faith I can identity with. He shares with such honesty his beliefs, especially about the presence and absence of God in his life. Although in one of his books , he says where there is absence there is presence. Thank you for this interview.

Regarding her interview about being married to Vince Gill, I find it hard to believe they have a good marriage! I have seen the latest video of them together promoting their Christmas album 2024 and Vince is hard to watch as he treats Amy with no respect! The public can’t see a good side of him unless he is playing the guitar! At least I can’t! Amy shame on You to not stick up for yourself. You look so weak!!❤

I beg to differ Malcolm. If we choose to see Jesus as a countryman, then we are missing who he really was. Its only by studying the scriptures can you see the Rabbi, the carpenter, the friend, and ultimately the savior of all who believe in him. I hope someday you get to know him as he is. Great show by the way. Always a pleasure. Vaya con Dios mi Hermano.
