Friendly tip: If your making a 'hiking' stick, make the stick long enough to where if you fall you can't be impale by the stick. 👍
That's so simple thanks ❤
You’re welcome. Thanks for watching!
Slide that into a 1 inch pvc pipe ur getting a minimum 50 pound bow
Good idea! Maybe I’ll make my next video on that. Thank you for watching!
Man that kid had a rattly cough!!
Thanks for watching!
I made Nunchuck of rounded cane. It was a bit heavier and more comfortable. The cane was about 30cm. Fastened together with small wire cable to eyed screw.
Heavier would be much better. Mine was way too light. I need to try your way. Thanks for watching!
yaa buddy nice job we support u.
Hey I really appreciate that! Thank you for the kind words
@@repurposeandreuse7963 :))))
great idea Would you put some short pieces at the handle to firm up the middle section and not have a continuous bend It's called a ''bundle'' bow and have been made of bamboo for 1000's of years
That’s a great idea. Would probably increase the draw weight I imagine??
@@repurposeandreuse7963 Since it's already 55 lbs maybe use one less layer of fiber glass rods All well made bows don't bend in the handle The zip tie arrow rest works great I put them on 2 of my bows (darn cheap too)
you cut the grooves for the bowstring directly into the fiberglass rod(s) and created a potential weakspot, no ?
I suppose it does create a potential weak spot but most of the force is in the center of the bow, so I’ve never had any issues with any of my bows breaking. I definitely make sure not to cut too deeply though!
Excellent video and very practical tips. Would a metal ferrule prevent wear and tear at the base ?
Thank you! Yes, most definitely would!
Has this broke on you yet? lol My first time making a bow and I’m paranoid a lot 😂
No it hasn’t! These fiberglass posts are unbelievably strong
Shoot, thanks brother!
I already scored a bunch of crossbows, compound bow, arrows 🏹, 🏹, string materials and a jig. I also snagged a few Timber Rattler Outlaws for good measure 😊
Nice collection you’ve acquired there! Gotta look into the timber rattler outlaws. Thanks for watching
Interesting. Best to use arrows with feather fletching.
Thanks! Yeah I like to shoot those also
Just curious about your estimated poundage at full draw, i had a bunch of these rods i used the strongest of the bunch to make a sweet ultralight bow thats very accurate and gets good arrow speed, then with the next strongest two rods i made this bow only traditional war bow look with packing tape underneath to lock them then black duck tape to fully wrap then leather wraps to brace the middle and tips, both are sweet bows that shoot great. I was pleasantly surprised myself. My lates is a single rod same length but half inch thick, its way strong definitely warbow stong. The three make a great set
Awesome! Sounds like you have a real nice collection! I got it at about 55 lbs at full draw, surprisingly!
Simple but effective!
Thank you very much! It was a fun project. Cheers!
What's the draw weight on something like this?
I recorded about 50# on it believe it or not! Thanks for watching!
@@repurposeandreuse7963 Thanks for the reply. I'll have to make me one and see what I can do with it.
Arrow tips are too heavy, but yeah great if you find these objects laying around.
Thanks for watching!
lol
Great video, but I wish you had a close-up before and after image.
Thank you! Yeah I do too. I appreciate it!
dope as hell! you've definitely earned a subscriber

No I missed it unfortunately!
It was great! Thank you for posting the ones you were at though!
Practical , perfect
Thank you! I appreciate that
then screws around on the flange
Yes! I need those. Thanks!
Nice
Thank you!
Can i make arrow shafts out of chinaberrywood?
I’m sure you could!
Looks like a very weak pull weight.
I’m just really strong bro. 😉No, it was like 50# believe it or not
Probably you all video is my note video to my apocalypse Survival. Thanks bro
Cool, will check it out!
Because one cannot find these items in a survival situation, unless one is planning ahead.
Hahaha touché
You're a very underrated UA-camr keep up the good work man🙂🙂🙂
Hey I really appreciate that! Thanks for watching!
@@repurposeandreuse7963 No problem
Great idea, I have a bamboo walking stick I’ve had for years, now I have a reason to keep it. My wife isn’t going to like it.
Thanks! Yeah fill it up with gear! And that’s too funny, Steven - she may like it when you save the day in a survival situation 🤣
How does that edge hold up on them knives? I always wanted a Victorinox but I keep hearing people tell me their steel has gone downhill recently.
Oh they’re great little knives. Edge holds up pretty well too. Definitely worth having one for a survival or EDC knife in my opinion. Thanks for watching. Cheers 🍻
So I now have a plan for that bamboo in the garage.
Hahah awesome!!
Keep uploading! Do not get left behind > promo sm !!!
Thanks! Got a couple more projects I’m working on! ♻️
Good idea,nice to watch 👍
Thank you! Cheers ♻️
What is the draw weight on that bow?
Just about 50 lbs! Thanks for watching ♻️
Just need to use about 3 table spoons of the grit. Looks like you had fun and thanks for sharing.
Hahaha good to know!! I used the whole bag lol! Was lots of fun, thanks for watching! Cheers ♻️
This is dope!!
Thanks for watching! Cheers ♻️
Small ferro rod? It is the most inportant thing in a survival situation...
Yes, great point. Definitely need a ferro rod!
Wonderful! (I am envy...) Subscribed! I very, VERY like to repurpose things, because I switched (some months ago) to the "minimalist" lifestyle. I have made knife sheath some weeks ago from old, scrap leather belt I found... And I've made my own belt from paracord... I made my small hunting knife using the blade of a broken pocket knife and a leg bone of a roadkill deer...
Thank you for the subscribe! I am a huge fan of the minimalist lifestyle and repurposing and fixing what we have instead of always throwing away and buying new! I’d like to see that knife and sheath sounds pretty awesome! Thanks again
Nice. I like it!
Thank you! I appreciate it!
This is potentially very dangerous! Do not touch that glass or slurry without rubber gloves. That glass is the leaded glass from a Broken CRT tv. That’s why it’s dark gray. It has lead, and considered hazardous waste. Now you will have a slurry that contains lots lead, and ground down glass is even more dangerous now that it’s all ground down rough. I would put that glass in a sealed bag and never touch it again.
Thank you for that!! Had no idea this was leaded glass. Lead is so very toxic, especially in powdered, ground down form. Thank you, thank you.
Exactly my thought. as soon as I saw the broken pieces I knew it was from a smashed crt
Nice bow damn
Thanks for watching!
Very good video. I make Red Oak Mollegabet Bows out of red Oak boards from Lowes. I will have to try this just for the hell of it. My only suggestion would be to make a nice continuous loop string out of braided fishing line rather than use paracord. Good job, and God bless ya!
Thank you Joe! I’m definitely going to have to try the bowstring out of fishing line hack, the paracord has too much stretch in it, but will work in a pinch I guess. I’m sure your bows take a lot of time and skill, I’m gonna have to look into that!! I really appreciate the feedback, take care and thanks again. Robert
@@repurposeandreuse7963 I don't know about a braided fishing line used "in a pinch" per se. I guess, but I I make them like any continuous loop string made the normal way on a jig I made. I use 90 or 100lb test for 5 or 6 loops giving it 500 lb tensile strength at the loops and 1,000 lbs for the string itself which is overkill for the bows I make between 25 - 40lbs. I also serve the loops and center where I nock the arrows. Actually of all my video's the one I did on making a bow string out of braided fishing line has the most views by a few thousand more than any other video I have made! Braided fishing line will not stretch so you have to make sure your nocks can handle it. I'm actually in the middle of making a double Mollegabet / Penobscot bow where I will have to make a couple of short strings for the shorter bow that will sit piggyback on the main bow ... never made one before but the cool thing about the Penobscot bow is that you can make it adjustable so that it can be set for different draw weights! Anyway, sorry for the long message - God bless you my friend!
Is that coin shell
Yes, it’s a magic trick coin lol
This is amazing I recently made a bow out of wood and now I’m regretting it😂
Lol! Yours took much more skill and looks much cooler I’m willing to bet! Thanks for watching!
What knot did you use to tie the string on?
I just looped the end and tied a simple knot using the two pieces - not sure what type of knot it’s called but hold its holding up well! Thanks for watching!
What are the poles even called lol can’t find it where i am or on the Amazon
Try to search for Fiberglass driveway or highway markers and you should be able to find em! Cheers!
Please stop, ✋ 🛑 get some help.
Lol! You should see my video where I make sandals out of an old tire 😜
I wonder if leaving the 3 points from the skewers but managing to put something between them to space out the points a bit, would work as a good fishing arrow?
Great idea! I think spacing out the 3 spear points would make a great fishing point!! Gonna try it with my next arrow I make! Thanks for the tip!! And thanks for watching 🙌
my man 👉😎👉
HAha! 💪
Just saw this video and was curious if you have had a chance to work on your bow staves any? Thanks.👍👍
Hey there! I tried slowly paring down several different staves and unfortunately the log had been sitting out in the elements for too long I believe. The wood was already too far gone and had no bend in it. It split on me about halfway through making my bows so I had to scrap the videos. I plan on making some more bow videos though - so I appreciate the question! Cheers!
@@repurposeandreuse7963 awe man.. I was looking forward to seeing the follow-up. Thanks for the update though and don't give up bro! 👍👍
