What pedals are you using? My speedplay frogs aren't made anymore, so I'm looking for replacements on my Volae and Carbent.
How many miles was it?
Speed racer
Was that the end of the ride? Was it a metric century?
It seems like the organizers could start riders based on their past riding performances so the slower people would start after the faster ones.
👍
It is year 2022, are you still riding? I just bought a used Bacchetta Corso 65a.
Got a Corsa V60 3 months ago. I avg 14 mph on a regular bike, 17 on the Corsa. Having to build new climbing muscles and still slower uphill. Faster downhill and flat, more comfort overall.
What app do you use to overlay the speed and route?
I just got a Corsa. Its been a challenge learning to ride it. I've got starting out down pretty good now. Any advice you have would be welcome. Going slow I find it hard to keep a straight line. I also figured out that if I lean slightly to the right the bike goes left & visa versa. Its counter intuitive. I've crashed a few times, all 3-4 mph. Also when I'm climbing a hill, middle sprocket in front & biggest in back, I get down to 4mph & I tend to go right to the curb & have to stop. You're clearly a great rider in great shape. Please share any thots. I enjoy your videos. Thanks.
Alan
LMAO at the guys trying to drop him on the bridge climb “we got him boys!” Then the pavement flattens back and he’s all like Meep Meep *woosh!*
Bent of da Car du du du :3
Wow driving that thing like a real idiot.
Ah finally, speed. Taking advantage of the recumbent.
Haha what a deeb. Only going 10mph on a recumbent.
I’m the guy at the end babbling at Hotter Than Hell... I never did find out what happened to Mark Lueck...
Hi Deebs, I’m the fat guy on the Carbent (aka, Beertruck) rode with you at the beginning, (05:00, 18:00-21:00), etc. I was just beginning to have knee issues, and was hoping to have a steady state 21-23mph ride, while trying to stay out of the big chain ring. That didn’t work out at all... lol. Guessing you easily dropped me at 30mph. I rode with the Major Taylor group until the 44 mile rest stop, but the braking/sprinting/braking/sprinting, etc, cooked my knees. Intentionally rode solo at a steady pace from there. You made going 30 look easy. I moved to CO in 2018. I really miss those flat, fast rides on Eastern Shore.
Love the sound track........
What place did you get??
The camera angle makes it look like some close passes? Your speed profile is amazing what you do in Mph I do Kph on my Giro 26 :( . I saw in one of your other videos that you ride 100 miles a week ? Anyway Ive watched most of these now. Any tips on speeding up the Giro?
Hi. What is the size Corsa you have 65 or 70
Holy shit that thing is fast. Which bike was the rider filming riding?
I mean unless they’re going into a headwind 24mph is easily doable on a road bike over smooth road like they had here.
@@kishascape Was it flat though or were they on a slight downhill?
Beautiful bikes! Eastern Shore?? Looks like the Seagull, which I've ridden with both my Volae and Carbent!
Finally made out a road sign for Assateague Island - def the Seagull! What a blast!
Longgg pull by the Carbent!
My roads never have that much shoulder to ride on. The carbent left you behind on the bridge
You almost made it to the finish. Only ten more feet ;)!
@6:30 guy spins left and crashes ....oops!
Storms past upright snoots...
Nice lil group start. A lot over the center line not necessary at those speeds. I see you were trying to make the front for later. I hope to navigate my bacchetta corsa that well someday although a little more right
Sux to have man down that's the worst. So you went solo for a bit then got caught. That was a pretty fit looking group
The sound of the pedal stroke as you pound away is so fun, literally smashing the diamond frame bikes
I like how the roadies are chugging along fast as they can and this guy just lapses them barely pedaling at a relaxed pace lmao. Fucking love the Corsa.
What ended up being your average riding speed for the whole ride?
Nice ride. Just did the Seagull (2018) on Saturday and was riding a Schlitter Encore. I had a similar experience eating df's.
Fast bike and rider. Good job. I just purchased a Bacchetta Aero 2 last week. It seems like I am using different muscles than my DF bike. Keep posting your videos!
Very nice. What's your fitness and experience level? Can an Average Joe rider go faster and farther compared to a DF? I currently have a Trek 1000 aluminum, no mods. Considering the Corsa A70.
Hi I've been riding this bike over 3 year's now love it! Took me about a biking season to feel very comfortable on it. In my opinion it feels like I got faster on it then a df. My goal is in the summer is to try to ride 250 miles a week so I guess my fitness level is little up there LOL. And I'll be 60 this year .
I'm always curious what the fitness and experience level the rider is. This helps put things in perspective. If you are a recreational rider and you can cruise at 20-24mph on this bike in the flats, it speaks to the bike and gives us recreational riders a lot to consider. If you are a racer-quality rider, we can't assume we will have the same experience on this bike.
I have the same bike. I'm almost 58 years old, 5'10", 214 lbs. Aluminum frame, carbon forks large frame Bacchetta Corsa A70. Bike weighs 28 lbs fully loaded (without me of course). I've been riding for 2 years and my average has increased from 13 mph to 18.1 mph (during a 62 mile ride with no breaks). I ride an average of 80 miles per week. Planning to lose more weight and increase average speed. Possibly buy full carbon aero with carbon wheel set and or Cruzbike Vendetta. This bike is extremely pleasing to ride.
@@lookatyourhand9751 Hi Ho Tippy (you made me sign in - I never do that!) What was the outcome of the Carbon Aero Vs the Vendetta? I have been looking for ages on a side by side comparison between the 2 types from a "normal" rider for ages. I have a Giro A26 and love it. Its a large frame but I am only a short inseam so I am at mid point on the spar (but no heel strike :) ) The Giro is a blast but I am finding some shortcomings if I want to do longer rides. Would love to hear your thoughts on the lighter Bacchetta Vs the Cruzbike. Thanks D in Queensland (No bent shops here)
Darren Simmonds I ended up buying a 2019 Cruzbike Vendetta frameset, a Shimano Ultegtra component set, and Specialized Roval Carbon wheels with Vittoria Rubino tubeless tires. It was definitely more difficult to learn to ride but once I finally got used to it my average speed increased almost 3 mph. On the downside I’m glad I bought bicycle insurance because I crashed and destroyed one of my carbon wheels. Now I ride with a set of cheaper wheels for training and save the carbons for those Saturday paid “T-Shirt rides”.
@@lookatyourhand9751 Thanks for your time. That sounds like one really nice bike & 3 mph is a big jump, was that all the bike or you also getting better/stronger?. As I am the only bent rider that I know I generally ride alone and early or use it in a trainer. The blurb for the Vendetta is very good and the Parkers have done a fantastic job on the bike with records and long rides and the KOM for a couple of the other riders on strava is very impressive. How does it climb in relation to the Corsa? I am used to the stick bike and it handles in a mostly predictable manner and climbs a bit slow or a lot slow and my daughter rides circles around me on her DF CF Giant. But a subjective question what do you think the better all round bike is - Carbon Aero or the Vendetta? Bit of a pipe dream at the moment as the $A is a poor relation to the $US at this time. Bad luck (& good call on insurance) re the carbon wheels - how much variation do you notice with the training and race wheel sets?
Darren Simmonds The Vendetta is a better climber (slightly). Also I would say that my increase in average speed was probably a combination of bike and aero wheel change, some slight fitness improvements, and potentially environmental or other factors I’m not aware of. I would think the Bacchetta carbon aero would be an overall faster bike than the Corsa due to weight. Adding carbon aero wheels would make it even faster.
Jesus if there was ever a hill at least the group would thin out
mindciller yes there is a bridge around a 50 mile mark 3rd rest stop
So many riders - they start at different times, but it feels pretty crowded, at least until Assateague.
Looks like it cruises at 24
I'm at the edge of my seat watching this! Thrilling!!!
Ha! Inspired.Subscribed. Bought a recumbent. Just something easy for an old fat to enjoy.
No not the cabon model..2015 corsa. This is a fun ride hilly, done it 3 years now.
That was impressive! Watched the whole thing. Were you on the carbon model? Noticed you passed another Corsa.
I was looking for some video of this bike your riding. You were chewing them up and spittin them out. Good ride! Fun watching.
I want a bacchetta so bad
Me too :3
The most recumbent bicycles I've ever seen at the Seagull (I was riding a Carbent)!
nice music!
You can turn off the Virb "branding" on the Export page. I hope the update fixes the stability I noticed my videos are very shaky.
Hey thanks, love this ride hilly but really fast on the downhill..
I love recumbents! Nice work in this video.
