Visiting the D2 Whitetails Deer Farm
DL & Diana Patton owners of D2 Whitetails invited my wife and I out to see the deer and bottle feed the fawns. Definitely couldn’t pass up that opportunity.

Solo Bushcraft Shelter Overnighter in Arizona’s High Desert
Переглядів 7538 місяців тому
I had an amazing time at the Ancient Wisdom Survival School’s Desert Adventure where I built this primitive shelter and enjoyed the night under the stars without a tent, sleeping bag or even a blanket. Just the items I normally carry in my backpack. It got down to 40* F with 30-40 mph winds all night. Luckily, I had no scorpion or rattlesnake encounters and the coyotes didn’t come too close. A...

My buddy Brandon got his first Hand Drill Fire at the Ancient Wisdom Survival School Desert Survival Class in Arizona. I’m not going to tag him cuz he will probably want to post this on his channel himself.
This is the school I attended where I built my beautiful Osage Longbow. Proud to be in their video.

Thanks for the video! One minor correction - the old "BALL PERFECT MASON" jars were made by Ball Bros Glass (based in Muncie, Indiana) from 1913 to about 1960. (Not counting new BPM jars that have come out since around 2013). However they went through a number of Ball cursive font variations over the years. (There are charts online showing the progression of how the "Ball" trademark looks on the front of the jar). Your jar (with the "BALL" having no underline) is the type that dates from circa 1923 to 1933. The "blue-aqua or "Ball Blue" color of Ball Perfect Masons were made up until 1937 - when they switched to clear glass, as consumers wanted the clear glass so they could see the food better. I noticed there is a "7" mold number on the bottom. The mold numbers identified the mold on the automatic jar blowing machine. The Ball Perfect Masons can be found with mold numbers from 0 to 15 on the bottom. Some have a number AND a letter. Sometimes the number is backwards.

Hey, Mr. Odell, just came back to this video. The end of my comment should have been THANKS. Came out looking like i was saying my ground hunting kinda sucks. Typo. Love the ground. Can move, spot to spot and adjust. Subscribed to your channel. Cant believe its been a year.

People ya need realizing instead posting nice way spend night in desert.. My day started as this day did in high desert.. Has now rained hailed, thunder lightening etc, this is for survival not nice night away. Still get up in morning hope find bearings to hike out.. or look at the stars find direction so ya can head that way in morning... 37 at night, a couple more degrees lower, and little moister you have snow in Desert... More things hunt at night.. You might wake up to a snake in bed with you.. Have spend a second or third night what are you going to do for food?.. Ask questions learn from this. Many ways this could happen say ya fell asleep drove off road etc now have to survive for you and maybe family or buddy with you... My 2 cents worth great video Hope you do more
@@TheShiftingBard-OffGrid Yeah things can go bad in a hurry. Having a cool head and making wise decisions goes a long ways. Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for taking the time to watch it.

Certainly the largest deadfall I've seen! I am immediately reminded of "My Side of the Mountain" where a figure-four log deadfall trap was described as being large enough to fell deer. Thank you for taking the time to set this thing up and film it for us!
My pleasure. It was a fun project. Glad you enjoyed it.
Love the water bottle critter proxy 😆
Why not just use a dam lighter ffs
I was trying to educate people on other ways of producing fire. Unfortunately not everyone is willing to expand their knowledge base.
Good work brother
Thank you. I appreciate that. Was a fun experience for sure.
I have 10 seconds to put my rain poncho on, then I take my time to set up the tarp. It does not take long to set up tarp, but to find the right spot.
In other words, a BBQ. Next!!!!
Good video. 👍🏼👍🏼 I remember smoking grapevine as a kid, way back in the day. We’re over run with cedar here in south Texas. Cedar bark works pretty well too.
Thanks for the compliment. That’s much appreciated. Yeah cedar is amazing. We have it a bit North of me, but not much right where I am.
Still really cool. I think I will try that.
I would love to know if you do try it.
