Oktay Usta, whose full name is Oktay Aymelek, was born on September 27, 1968 in the village of Gökçesu Kadılar in the Mengen district of Bolu. He is the youngest of 6 children of a cook father.
He worked in five-star hotels such as Boldum Milta Holiday Village, TMT Holiday Village, Bodrum Hotel, Alanya Alara Hotel, Uludağ Grand Yazıcı Kervan Saray, Marmaris Sarıyer and Iber Hotel. Later, he worked at Cafe de Pari in Bebek, Ortaköy Ziya restaurant and Topkapı Eresin Hotel in Istanbul. He went to Spain to promote Turkish cuisine.
In 1998, he won the bronze medal and the first place in the cooking competition in London.
He won 2 silver medals in the competition in Malta in 1999 and 1 gold medal in London in 2000.
He started working at The Plaza Hotel in 2000.

How to make ONION RINGS ?❗
Ingredients:
3 onions
1 tea glass of mineral water
1 egg
One finger less flour from 1 cup
Half a glass of starch
1 teaspoon of ground red pepper
1 teaspoon curry
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon of powdered garlic
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon of chili pepper
1 teaspoon of salt
Preparation:
We cut the onions into rings. We separate the rings and put the larger ones into the mixing bowl. We break the egg and pour mineral water on it. We add the spices. We mix it with a whisk. We also add flour and starch. We sprinkle a little salt on the onions. First, we coat the onions in flour. Then we put it in the sauce. We put oil into the pan. The oil will neither be too hot nor too cold. We fry the onion rings. We serve it with sauce on the side. Enjoy!
