Pictures at an Exhibition (Russian: Картинки с выставки -- Воспоминание о Викторе Гартмане, Kartinki s vystavki -- Vospominaniye o Viktore Gartmane, "Pictures from an Exhibition -- A Remembrance of Viktor Hartmann") is a famous suite in ten movements composed for piano by Modest Mussorgsky in 1874.
The suite is Mussorgsky's most famous piano composition, and has become a showpiece for virtuoso pianists. It has also become known through various orchestrations and arrangements produced by other musicians and composers (see: Arrangements and Interpretations, below, for further discussion), with Ravel's arrangement being the most recorded and performed.

O mais incrível! Tocar essa merda de cabeça, absolutamente insano.
FAVOLOSI,INIMITABILI,IRRANGIUNGIBILI!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh my god,oh my god ,Greg Lake incredible solo Guitar/voice,one of the best performance everrrrrrrr genre, soooooooooo poetic with his angelic voice.from Treviso Italy Cattarin Luciano
perfect bass tone, unlike that garbage Alembic sound...
In their begginings, they could go really HARD ROCK... But like in this case, with some Mussorgsky, Church Music, Bach in bebop and funky forms with Emerson's mastery ... Lake would play solid hard bass and angry vocals.... Palmer was just totallly precise yet loose at the same moment... And yes, the electronica pioneer Emo in full display with the scarce amount of technology available at that time... TIMELESS ELP 🌿🌼🌺🕊️
Anyone know Keith's drawbar settings for the opening?
Synth spanking never did catch on. This may be why.
Would rather see them perform than the special effects !

M E R A V I G L I O S I !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Classic
A primeira vez que vi ELP em video. Uma loucura psicodelica feita por um caminhante amigo... Masterpiece!
Einfach, immer ein Trauuuuum !!!!!!!
Brutal!
The best!
That's a Ribbon Controller...Another Bob Moog innovation. Allows one to set what parameters one want's to control such as pitch, filter, triggers, etc. One COOL device!
Nice shiny silver sparkly ones
Oh, Keith wipes his ass at 05:58 with that funny device.
hi. think it was called a ribbon controller which I believe was developed from earlier theramins
Amazing! :)
Fantastic music. Are those special effects is a plugin to Winamp?
I actually think it was Lake's fault. Usually they hold that 5 chord longer than that; Lake came in too early. You can see how confused Emerson looks
Having his shirt on or off doesn't affect the way he plays.
..THIS WAS RECORDED,ON DEC. 09 1970, AT LYCEUM THEATRE,IN LONDON !!!
During the power cuts. They were worried the sound of the generators outside could be heard in the auditorium. I was there too.
hey guys, and Sims, i had to grab this show and save it to my ELP folder as you see it here in 4 parts but at least i have the full show, Not sure what happened when Nedaj00 tried to load it in 1 upload but i'm sure you know it stops at 37 or 38 minutes. but i see 0 dislikes and wanted some help from any1 or a couple people here to open it up and the 1st page of comments this douchebag Mussorgsky fan that puke loser, cut down Keith and Carl he said they suck n this is deserving of takin a dumpON
FUCK YEAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! THIS IS TRULY MUSIC
From 06:38, you can hear a rearrangement of the Mussorgsky-piece 'The Old Castle'. Actually, some bits of the 'Blues Variation' are taken from 'The Old Castle' too. Some will recognize it, some won't.
To DarthMadg The thing that Keith Emmerson uses beginning at approximately, 4 min. 35 sec's, {I am 95% certain}, is called a "Theremin"! If that's what you are asking about.
No theremin man ,It a ribbon controller for the modular moog ,from Treviso Italy Cattarin Luciano
5:03 he tries to tune it.. might've had tuning issues with that bass or it was oscillators on the moog. However he plays the organ quite a bit too throughout.. Either way it's mind blowing!!
Too much LSD, but excellent music!
What brand drum set is that?
Dude what is that piece Emerson uses at around 5 min into it??
Subic Bay 1971!!!!
What I would give to go back in time and see these early ELP concerts. Great video except the psychedelic graphics are awful. I want to see ELP!!!!
The synthesizer part starting @6:37 has a really cool sound to it
Reverb and wow-pedal on a bass! 6:54-07:40. Greg Lake was one of the few to attempt such creativity in this early period of rock...
My favorite ballad from Greg Lake - his absolute BEST...
MUSSORGSKY VIVE
love it
There's one thing that bugs me with this recording: Lakes bass is not properly tuned; very apparent during the Kiev part, it's a bit flat, actually. Othervise: excellent.
Indrukwekkend.....
@beeroosterm Are you saying that Lake created the confusion?
music that never dies
