Carbon Fibre Clinchers vs Aluminium. Should You Upgrade & Buy A Set For Your Road Bike?
In today's video I wanted to share a quick comparison between my brand new Carbon Fibre Wheetset, and my older set of Aluminium Training wheels.
It was a big decision for me to go out and order a set of new wheels, as I had done some extensive research online and watched 1 or 2 more videos on UA-cam than I probably needed too (slightly obsessed for about a month), but here they are and ready to be put to the test.
I tried to keep this as fair as I could and this included completing all of the tests within couple of days of each other, and using the same gear for each ride. I also did a 100% effort each time, giving myself only 1 attempt per test track. *(you will notice in most of the "after" tests that the sky is full of smoke from the Bushfires we have had over our Summer, so this was actually a slight disadvantage towards the Carbon Wheels.)
I hope you enjoy this clip, and if you are wondering, I was able to get these wheels via a re-seller in Melbourne, Australia. These are a set of PZ Racing Carbon Clichers, 55mm front and 88mm rear, and cost me roughly $500 AUD delivered.

Testing out the Giant Trance - Finally Back to Hornsby, Old Mans Valley and Lava Flow

Some rough and quite steep, yet surprisingly fast lines today as we tackle the tight network of trails throughout Hornsby Quarry again. It's time to finally take the Giant out for a spin, and there is no better place to give it a good run in than over at Hornsby. Of course a Hornsby ride is not complete without finishing off with my favourite, Lave Flow for some super quick smooth lines! Enjoy t...

After an amazing first day in Niseko we finished off the day walking back to the resort in some heavy snowfall. With close to blizzard like conditions all night we awoke on Day 2, looking out our windows to find an incredible 40cm dump waiting for us to shred all day. We didn’t waste any time at all flying through breakfast, and we were at the top of the first run in less than 20mins. You will ...

We arrive at the Hilton in Niseko, Japan to begin our Bucks week celebrations with my Groomsmen. We waste no time and hit the snow as soon as we can, enjoying everything Japan has to offer. It may not look like much snow, however compared to our usual season in Australia, we couldn’t be happier with the consistent coverage and amazing scenery that we take in as we shred down the mountains. Not ...

With only 3 months to enjoy the snow in Australia, it can be difficult to find the time to head down south and enjoy it as a group...
