Yoda on Faith

Yoda is like the apostle Paul, but in Star Wars. There are some fantastical spiritual tidbits to preach from in this clip.

Pastor Jamie shows he really is the toughest youth pastor in the universe. Really.

Hold it you must BIG
❤️ 🌹
That is way you fail
When Star Wars were good..
The reason on every census for my adult life I have put my religion as Jedi
Yoda didn’t talk in bad grammar with every sentence in the original trilogy like he did in the prequels! 😄
This is really about the unified field theory
“Luminous beings are we. Not this crude matter.”
Back in the day when SW wasn´t mere lightsaber porn.
"Do, or do not. There is no try." As a child, I thought the message was about doing something without permitting yourself to fail. Do it perfectly, or don't do it. As an adult, I realize it was about commitment and faith. Deciding "this is what I am going to do" and seeing it through, and having faith in yourself that you can find a way. Luke decides it is impossible to lift the X-Wing because he can't believe it's possible. It's so much more than what he's already done, it seems insurmountable... but as Yoda demonstrates, the true obstacle in Luke's way was caving to his self doubt and the instinctive feeling of "I can't do this" when Luke felt he reached his limits. At those times, you must believe in yourself, in what you are capable of achieving. You haven't failed. You've experienced a setback. But if you want to achieve your goals... you can, and will, find a way with time and improvement, so long as you don't give in to despair and doubt.
Size matters not. Luke thought the reason he couldn't lift the x-wing was because of it's size. Yoda actually has a lot of philosophical wisdom. I saw a program on TV years ago about all the ancient beliefs that fed into the Star Wars saga. Stuff like Shaolin monk abilities that seem like magical powers. Ancient fighting techniques of martial arts. People can break a brick with their bare hand, they can walk barefoot on hot coals. With training they can do things that don't seem possible. I recorded it on a VHS tape, that's how long ago it was. I love that philosophy stuff, even though I don't understand it all.
@Dave Bach I'm probably too old to be your sexy redhead. My Scottish ancestry came with dark brown hair, but in the sunlight all the red hairs and a few blonde hairs glistened like reddish gold. Try going to a Scottish festival. We freckled redheads might be more abundant there. When I collected dolls, I was partial to the green eyed redheads.
@Dave Bach I hope you like bagpipes, and men in kilts. Yum!!
@Dave Bach proper kilt wearing requires nothing underneath. When I heard hundreds of bagpipes all playing at once, it awakened something inside of me. And I wanted to go immediately to the plane for Scotland. I'll probably never go, may never get on a plane again depending on the travel rules now. But there's plenty of places around the states I've always wanted to see and visit. Those don't require a plane. People either love or hate bagpipes it seems. I bought some CDs from one Scottish band, and when I play that while driving, I find myself driving WAY too fast!! Yikes. I swear it awakens a beast within I didn't know I had. Where you want to have a bonfire at the beach while you dance around it in a drunken frenzy half naked, alone, with others, who the hell cares? As long as the music And drums are playing See if you can find the band Albannach, and their album titled something like It's in The Blood. I really think there is some sort of ancestral memory.
Maybe R2D2 should have kept quiet ? :D
One of the best scenes in history. As close to truly magical as it gets.
Yoda is a most magical Mensch with timeless wise words of wisdom to share.
If only they had Rey around for this. 😂
From this to baby yoda playing paintball with Mandalorians. Yeah, it’s time for Lucasfilm to exit Disney.
Better than any Cgi
Amazing how symbolic this is to God and Christianity. For my Ally is God, and a powerful Ally he is, creates life, makes it grow, his love surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we not this crude matter. You must FEEL God around you, here, between you, me, the tree, the rock, everywhere, yes even between the land and the ship.
Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter. The Force is what gives a Jedi his power. It's an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us. It binds the galaxy together. The natural world IS the Force.
Count Dooku: The task is only impossible because you deem it so
That was the magic of Star Wars and now it's all gone.
"I don't believe it" "That is why you fail" This is such an important line, both in universe and for us as well. It doesn't matter if you have talent, if you don't believe in yourself you will always fail.
Even though it’s completely subjective, I’ve always interpreted it as Luke’s failure in believing how strong the force actually is? Your take has me thinking otherwise! Cheers.
yoda is so wise
Who else is here
Arguably, the best scene in any Star Wars movie ever.
we go from scenes written like this to "somehow Palpatine has returned"
Yep, sad isn’t it? As soon as I heard that or “they fly now?” in ROTS, I just rolled my eyes and projected classic scenes such as this in my mind, to dull the pain. It’s absolutely stunning and heartbreaking, how much SW has fallen.
Faith can move mountains
🧘🏾♀️🧝🏿♀️👁️✨🕶️🧬💖💃🏾🌀🌌
still 1000X better than any CGI even to this date 2022
All the HD starwars clips are being taken down.
This video sucks. 240p ? really?
Every child should be made to watch this clip every morning before school. Don't explain anything to them and let them come to the conclusion and it will hit them like a ton of bricks. I remember watching this as a kid and looking at my dad and him just looking back at me. At first I thought it meant to never give up, but one day it hit me about the power of belief and the lesson of do or do not, there is no try. I always thought well Luke shouldn't do it because he can't, then again It dawned on me that if you are going to do something, do it with the purpose of absolute belief and certainty that you will succeed, you should be surprised if you fail, and then that is when you learn from your failures and make the changes in order to succeed the next time. All that from a 4 minute scene in Star Wars. I thank my father for never explaining it to me and having myself learn the true inner message! Thank you dad! Thank you Frank OZ and George Lucas!
...ya'
Dope classic movie.
Thats how religion starts
"Size matters now" Yoda could be my master if these are his teachings.
Like didn't believe it. Even I wouldn't have....if not for John Williams' music.
Yoda...YOU can make the impossible...POSSIBLE. But ONLY IF YOU BELIEVE. It's just easier to give up and walk away. Then to face your problem head on.
"Do or do not. There is no try."
the force is strong.
luminous beings are we not this crude matter - dzogchen!
Applies to all of us.. (without the telekinesis) but a lot of it is will power
Makes me sad to see this compared to what "star wars" has become
i believe in the force because i am one with it. I am not one with a sky dictator used by villains throughout history to enact violence based on their selfish agendas. Dogma is a path to the darkside
I must unlearn what I have learned. Thanks Master Yoda! :)
Force was restored after mandolorian series .... series 7-9 needs to get gone from all of memory
"Do... or DO NOT... there is no TRY." *Succeed, or Fail. If you fail... your efforts mean nothing*
Give Luke a break, Yoda is just trying to crash course level 4 wizard classes to a guy that's had only 1 year of sloppy homeshcooling
