Hey there! The red dot is the laser's aiming point to help you find the focus, and the square is your marking area. If your design is centered, the red dot should be right in the middle of the square. You might want to check if your content is truly centered in the software, or do a test mark to see how it turns out. That should give you a better idea if the focus is spot on.

I have done all the alignment of the square and dot and it was centred but the square is going off to the left with a ring. It was in the centre before I turned the rotary on. Hmmm

And it goes back to centre of the square when I turn the rotary off

How to remove engraving inside the ring . Made a mistake :(

@@shirazparacha2024 I feel your pain on that one, I don't even offer that service because for one, to mill down the inside of your band to clean it up also changes its size meaning you would need to charge your customer for both the work of the removal of engraving as well as resizing of the ring and that's "if" you are using materials that allow for it. Ceramic, Tungsten, and bands that utilize wood and other inlays often will not make this possible. Long story short, it's far too often the case that it's less expensive to just buy another ring than it would be to mill out an engraving and readjust the size unless of course your working with soft metals like gold, silver or stainless steel and okay with enlarging your band some.
