With these pan fish just put the worm the size of the hook. You save on worms and get a better hook set. I like using smaller hooks like a size 10 or 12

They have monster bluegill there. I caught a similar size one near the beach a few months ago trolling a spinner with a real worm on the hook. It inhaled my spinner it was so huge.
