That wrapping paper has a shiny side..aka plastic.
It's a wax. Not plastic.
Love this idea!! Thank you for sharing!! I can see a great deal of designs coming from this method of upcycling!
You are so welcome! My printer hasn't stopped lol. Printing on baking paper has never been so enjoyable lol. And it very much resembles Decopage papers. I'll have to do a tutorial on the process to show how I had done it. 👍.
So is the "craft paper" the same as our freezer paper we use here in the US? Or am I confusing the two? And then place parchment paper on top to iron.....
I'm not sure, I just know that the craft paper has a wax backing on it. I stumbled upon it adhering together after a happy accident. From UA-cam videos I've seen of people using freezer paper, it seems like it does the same application.
Kraft paper is brownish in color like brown paper bags like super markets used to have. Freezer paper is usually white, maybe tan, it has one side shiny coating other side matt. Parchment paper , no glue, or tape will stick to it., good for crafting, and can be put in oven, like silicone Matt's. Hope this is helpful.
When separating napkin layers I start in the center with an eraser. Gently rub the eraser ( use a light touch) until the layers separate, then pull from the center to the outer edges. Keeps the edges intact.
Thankyou Shirley. I'll try that. For sure. 🌷

Thankyou 🙏🌷 very much. I hope you're keeping well after your surgeries too. Do you do any crafts? Hugs to you from Australia 🦘
Hello, I am Wanda from Michigan USA. I love this technique and is how I make mine as well. I am a new subscriber.
Hello Wanda. I'm Rochelle in Australia. Sth Dakota is my home. Thankyou for subscribing 🙏🌷. Yes this technique is more friendlier than using cling wrap. What crafts do you create?

Thank you!
You're welcome!
I found this a bit confusing- kraft paper is not shiny on one side, so I assume it's freezer paper? - the shine must be wax/glue coating which the heat from the iron activates - so it's not much different to using cling-wrap really - just simpler to use. Couldn't find the screenshot of the product details to check it out further to see if its available here in the UK. Thanks anyway.
Hi 👋. It's not freezer paper, as we don't have it in Australia. It's from Kmart. And the shiny side is a wax substance. It is eco friendly and that's why I refrain from using cling wrap.
That's what I thought. There's got to be chemicals in the shiny side, which dissolve with the heat of the iron.
No chemicals at all.
Hi. No chemicals at all🌷
So nice but you never rush art i learnt that mix take x❤um follow your art 😮
Awesome work love what you have made
Can not wait to see how you do these projects love it
So sorry this has happened to you. I live in Northern NSW too and attend my local U3A craft group. You get to meet a variety of different personalities in a group and that is maybe the challenge we have in belonging to any group e.g. Facebook or a weekly meeting like I go to. I am also sensitive to unnecessary comments but remember it is all about them and actually nothing to do with you. i guess in my senior years it is getting easier to not take on board the rudeness of ignorant people that intentionally want to be spiteful. I'm also learning to let go of past hurts and wake up each day with no baggage. It doesn't serve us to hold onto it. My motto is be kind even when they can't be. Blessings 😊
Thankyou for your beautiful 💗 words 🙏. I'm just very sensitive, as I am still dealing with past traumas. Letting go is the key which I'm learning. There is a U3A group in my town Ballina. I should check it out. In time I'll build up my confidence and self-esteem. And be able to stand tall. 😃. What crafts do you do yourself?
I have been a member of the Ballina craft group for twelve years. Love junk journals and have way too much paper, also making cards with my various (dozens) of metal dies and stamps. Over the years I have done patchwork quilting but put it on hold for some time. I am helping a friend at the moment who is learning to quilt and it has inspired me to finish a very special quilt that I made for my beautiful sister. She is an angel now and I have the quilt back with me again but needed to change it to make it mine. I just got it out a couple of days ago and decided to change the sides and the end, but the top will stay as it is. I just had to wait until I was ready to put it on my bed. What crafts do you do? 😊
I didn't know there was a craft group in Ballina. I do a variety of crafts, from junk Journaling, sewing crafts, wood crafts, and upcycling. but health lately had seen me take time away from crafting. Slowly getting back on the horse so to speak. I live in Ballina also. 🌷😜
Is the print side of the napkin up or down on the baking paper?
Hi. It's facing upwards. 🌷
What makes the napkin stick to the paper?
That paper has some plastic on the back, it’s why it’s shiny, I’m guessing it’s like freezer paper or butcher paper?
It's actually a wax coating.
Absolutely adorable!!! I love it! I made one along with you. ❤️🫶🏼
Awesome. 🌷 💗 Did you take pictures or a video Barbara? Love to see them ❤️
Here to support from facebook.
Thankyou 🙏🌷
The background noise/sound is horrible. Couldn't watch this video.
Sad to hear that. It sounds ok on my side and others that have watched it. Over 21,800 have watched it.
Are you referring to the background noise...rustling paper, scissor cutting? That's not bothersome to most crafters. And there are much kinder ways of expressing your opinion.
Agree 💯
Ooooo. Then don’t comment.
It is time you showered your own self with all the love and support which you expected from any other individual (be it even your family, friends or these group acquaintances). Pity the ignorant souls of this planet and pray for them that they evolve in their respective soul journeys. After releasing your burdens in this manner, focus only on your own soul's journey and become emotionally self-reliant. You got this! Sending healing vibes your way ❤🩹
I’m sorry you were hurt. {{{{{ Hugs! }}}}}
In the US it's called freezer paper. It is sold everywhere in the paper and plastic bags aisle.
We don't have freezer paper in Australia, and it's so expensive to order it from overseas 😭
We don’t have freezer paper in Canada either, maybe it’s similar to either parchment paper or butcher paper here….
Genius. Thank you so much for sharing. I have a store of freezer paper from my old silk painting days. I love to make decoupage cards, but I don't like cling wrap, & other methods are a bit hit & miss for me. This way I can mat & layer my cards like the old days! Now, where did I stash that freezer paper ......
Lol. Check the pantry . We don't have freezer paper in Australia and it's so expensive to order it from overseas 😭
Is it plastic coated looks like it
It's a wax coating 👌
Good for you, my friend! You should be proud of your accomplishment!
Thankyou Delores. It's been a real uphill battle. I shut down for a very long time as you would have guessed. Finally found a great doctor, and now on the right Medication. 🙏 I've also have your parcel here that I intended to post. I just didn't cope with anything, me or others. So thankfully now, can move forward and start the healing process. Hope you're well, and still crafting 😘. I'll have to catch up on all you have been doing, as well as your health. You know , we all like doing the diy projects and we follow every bit of the project , but never dreamed that it could be toxic
Wow, 5 months ago. You don't get the notifications unless you go into UA-cam studio. I've missed so many comments 😭. Yes plastic is toxic. And if you can smell it as the iron is going over the project, it's already in your lungs.
Parchment paper
Not sure what parchment paper is called in Australia? We don't sell it here?
Are you in Australia?
Hi there. Yes. Nth NSW.
I have ADD too and was diagnosed as an adult. So I finally have a name and it ain't "stupid!" smile! Have you watched my video about SPOTS? Your craft room looks like it is coming together. You've got more spots for things. It's really helpful to have shelving I think, however, I wonder how much of your dissatisfaction comes from procrastination, perfection, or thinking you haven't accomplished anything? You can tell your son that moving things around is part of being female. We're nesters and our homes tend to be our pride and joy! smile! One of my coping skills is making lists and checking them off when I've completed a job. Makes me feel as though I'm accomplishing something and not just spinning my wheels. If it would be helpful for you, label your shelves and baskets in BIG letters so that you can see it across the room. Hang a cardboard sign like the stores do above the shelves with an arrow pointing towards it. I've got one in my kitchen pantry labeled "FREEDOM DIET" that tells the guys the top two shelves are for my food and don't be putting their junk on them or they are gonna hear from me about it! Set a timer and work for 15 minutes or so, if that's all the time you've got to work, then add those minutes to a list. Little by little you will get it done. I know that, for me, anyway, I have to push myself to keep at it when my natural inclination is to fly away and do something else that comes to mind. I keep a pad of paper nearby and when I think of something that I must do, then I add it to the notebook and keep doing what I set out to do for the 15 or so minutes. Then after the timer goes off, I'm free to go on to the next task in the notebook. In your next video, can you show us a project where you are using one of the stencils I sent you? I would really like to see that. Have a great week! ❤
I just use a glue stick!
Happy you are safe! Praying for everyone affected by the flooding this past whole year. Has been happening all over, best wishes to you and yours, take care.
Thankyou Sherry. Using friends log in, as I don't have my phone 🤳 back yet that I use for the internet. Still lots of work to be completed on a large scale. The devastating climate events are becoming more frequent. Hope all is well. 🌹🙏
These would make really cute inspirational key-ring-minders too, I think! Hope you are well.
Hi Delores. I don't have my mobile phone so not been online. It got sent away to be repaired. So no phone atm. Using a friend's to reply but he goes back interstate soon. My surname is Peron. I've got a box of papers, vintage wallpapers, and much more. I'll need your address details too 🤗. Hoping I get my phone back soon as I don't have a spare one. 😭. I'll be able to communicate more when I get my phone back. Much crafty love. Sorry it's short and brief reply. xo
The kraft paper looks shiny?? Is it just plain kraft paper?
Hi. It has a shiny backing that has a glue like substance on it. I came across the ability to use it to adhere to other papers by accident. It's a Kmart brand.
You can also transfer napkins to candles with PVA glue too I have done it myself did two 1 Xmas candle and a winter candle as long as you are careful applying glue to napkin it should not tear.
I've never tried that. I'm imagining very pretty candles. Do you have a video showing how you do them? I'm keen to try😜🌷
You don't need glue. Just lay the napkin or a cut out part of it onto the candle and iron it. The napkin melts into the candle. There are tutorials here on YT. It's a lot of fun and turns out beautiful!
Says 4 comments, but can't see any?

I just thought of another company - I wondered if you could use embroidery patterns like Aunt Martha's from Colonial Patterns to trace from. Don't know if they sell embroidery patterns in your shops there or not, but this company sells a lot of farmhouse type patterns for tea towels and quilt tops.
Well done. 👍🏻 I like the style of them. Looking forward to seeing your next projects.
I'm so happy I found this. I bought freezer paper about a year ago and totally forgot what the technique was I bought it for. This is it!!!
Oh my, my sister went through a flood from a hurricane. I'm glad you are okay. When do you think you'll be dried out there in Aussie-land?
Hi Delores. Cleanups happening. Waters still around, and having rain also doesn't help as grounds are sodden with flood waters. It'll be several weeks before completely dried out. Only my backyard got flooded, but lost a lot of timers, tools, outdoor furniture. I'm fortunate it didn't get inside. Hope your keeping well Delores. I'll talk more soon. So much happening here at moment, and also volunteering daily to help our town anyway possible. Thinking of you often my friend. 🙏🌞♥️
Very cute! Did you see the JOY cutting board my girlfriend "Connie" made for me? Ah cool. I'll check it out. 👍. Yes the scan n cut mats are expensive in Australia. How are doing? This covid is out of control. I don't go out hardly. Order groceries online and get delivered. These are beautiful. I love black and white and actually wear it. I see you have a cute new UA-cam handle! By the way, had my last cataract surgery right before Christmas and am now waiting on my eyes to heal and stabilize so that I can get new reading glasses!! Yay! And it's not easy eating the gastritis diet way, but I did get a new-to-me Kitchen-aid mixer and I used it for the first time today to make a loaf of quick bread. Got to remember how to cook again! I use the photo editor that came on my computer to create my videos with and add UA-cam's free music and sound effects from their audio library to my videos also. Uploaded another JOY video the other day. I tore down my videotaping area to put up a Christmas tree that never got pulled out and put up. So now I get to sort and clean again to set up my taping area. Right now it has a BIG heavy box there that my husband stuck in the empty space. He's real good at that. Filling up areas I just decluttered and cleaned. sigh! Grace & peace to you!
Hi Delores, just seen this message now. I bet your finally over surgeries too. 💗. How long before you get your reading glasses. I'm hopeless without mine, but still squint a lot to try and see. Doesn't help when all I have is a mobile phone Doh! I'm yet to learn how to voice over, add music etc. In time 👍. Ah dietary, yes can be challenging, as I'm learning just after gallbladder surgery recently. Mmm home made bread, I can just smell it now lol. Nothing better 😀 I'm still decluttering. Yes I love farmhouse, so thought it appropriate, refarmhouse decor, farmhouse furniture flips etc I adore Joanna and Chip Gained. It's still slow to take off here in Australia. I'm so glad to see you! I've had an endoscopy and cataract surgery since we last talked. I've been busy preparing my kitchen, taking plastic stuff to the thrift store. We've accumulated a lot of plastic in our marriage. 😄Switching to stainless steel, glass and glazed china in the kitchen, just in case I do get diagnosed with celiac disease. I've already been diagnosed with lactose and fructose intolerance, GERD and an ulcer. I'm having another endoscopy at the beginning of Dec and finishing up with cataract surgery the week of Christmas. I also had stents put in my eye at the same time because I have pigmentary glaucoma. Seems like fur babies always want our attention when we are paying attention to something else. She sure is cute though. Do you own a dog too? My girlfriend made me something wooden to hang on the wall in my kitchen. She upcycled it from her grannies' chopping board. I'll be showing it in my next JOY video. I also liked those birds you had decoupaged with the wallpaper. Those were really cute! Blessings, friend!
Great to hear from you Delores. Sound like you too have been having health issues. My surgery is this Thursday coming. So I have been trying to sort the woorkshed area out as the rain was causing issues and damaging timber. We had to repair roof and wall area, trying to get it done by Wednesday before surgery as going to be a long time before I can physically do work out there.
