Saying only 2 levels have any "effort" put in, in this hack isn't much better imo, in fact it's arguably worse. I agree katze can be a bit rough sometimes and definitely don't always agree with his descs, but not once did I see him attack the creator in anyway, the worst he said here is that he really disliked the level, like who cares if he dislikes it so be it. Especially since no matter how good a level is if a grind goes terrible for whatever reason that can hurt the enjoyment a lot, imagine making fun of someone crying on a rough grind. Heck I even personally quite like this level, and don't really agree with some of the reasons katze explained here, but again I don't see how any of that was so harsh to make such a big deal out of. Should have just mentioned that you don't agree with some of his reasoning without slandering him for it in a completely unnecessary way.

I don't see your comments often but every time I do, it's you being nasty to someone or about something. Yeah, katze's behavior on this was not healthy but opening your comment mocking him for crying isn't helping anyone. Your comment feels more "targeted and spiteful" than anything in his description, which while very critical of the level never feels like a personal attack (unlike your comment). Mental health struggles with video games are a very real thing, and I say that as someone who has struggled with them as well as made great progress over the years. And that progress was thanks to people who were kind, supportive, and understanding, not harsh, mocking, and dismissive. Comments like yours won't accomplish anything except making people feel bad. Do better.

Mental health struggles are real, I admit that and have experiences with them myself. Regardless, you have the choice to not take those issues out on other people. What I saw from this description was an intentional attack on someone who clearly put their heart and soul into a project that they clearly loved. I acknowledge that I don't know much about Katze personally, too. I'm sure the stuff he struggles with isn't easy - it never really is. However, I do believe he has a history of striking a nerve with his anger-fueled "criticisms" of people's levels, and how often it isn't the creators' faults for that disdain. I understand my comment can come off as a personal attack, I mean, hell, it is in a sense, but I didn't take the first shot. I want people to understand that his behavior hurts people. Especially when this isn't his first offense for this level. He was asked a while back when complaining about this level somewhere to please not try and attack her when he eventually beat it and uploaded it. Actually, if I recall, he was asked twice. He did not care to respect what Lana has asked. He willingly chose to go out of his way to disparage her level and her name. You can criticize me for trying to fight fire with fire, but I'm not the one deleting comments here and not saying anything about it. I'm trying to stick up for a beloved friend of mine. I apologize for how my original comment sounds, I do, but I won't apologize for upsetting him if he doesn't first apologize for upsetting her.

@@wbm7533 I should start by saying I was definitely being hyperbolic when I said two levels were good in the tourney, and I apologize for putting that kind of language in an otherwise serious comment. There are plenty more great additions and I was more so riffing off the fact that some levels (such as Pie's) have been admitted to being low effort (I mean there's an unchanged copy-pasted wallkick section twice in that star). Also, I was definitely focusing more on the visual aspect than anything as far as quality goes, and from my immediate memory the two levels I could remember being noticeably more polished than a lot of its contemporaries visually were Lana's and Sill's levels. I didn't explain it in my comment, as it was actually explained in one by Lana (the creator of the level), which is now deleted, but Katze actively did attack Lana's level openly weeks before this video and its description were posted. Furthermore, Lana responded to those comments asking him to please change the verbiage of his messages and to acknowledge his own faults that caused his gameplay annoyances if he were to post the level in the future. He did not follow those requests, and it really sucks to see him do nothing but complain about sections that other players don't have as if they are objective truth. As I'm sure it is glaringly obvious, I am good friends with the creator of this level, and I stood up for them because I firsthand saw how incredibly hurt she was by not just what was said, but how much she had previously gone out of her way to keep him from saying in the first place. I think his behavior is, in short, incredibly selfish and dismissive. Yes, I may have outwardly poked fun at him crying on a grind, but he chose himself to play through it for the credit and the clout. In general, he should know better when to call it quits on something you just can't enjoy. When you don't, you risk taking out that pain on other people, which he did. I truly hope I didn't set off you or any of the other people who see and respond to this comment. I want to be clear that I don't make judgements like the one I made today for no reason, and especially do not want to involve myself any more than I have to to feel like I'm standing up for my friend. Overall, I think it is a fair point to criticize and call out a pattern of unwillingness to change hurtful behavior he has had, but I very much admit, without the context of the original and now deleted comment by Lana, this comment could easily come off as incredibly hurtful and purposeless. @@solodude3937 So Lana has messaged me about this and filled me in on some more info and it appears there's more to this issue than just this description. So on that note, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt on some things. But I will say, isn't it a bit hypocritical to say "it's one of the only 2 levels with effort" and basically put down all other creators in the hack to defend this level? And for the record, I don't have a problem with this level. It's very much not my style but it's cool and creative in a lot of ways. And as one of katze's closest friends, I plan to have a heart-to-heart with him about some of this stuff and hope he's willing to listen if it's me.
