this recording just absolutely thrilled me the first time I heard it which is about maybe 15 years ago maybe 20 probably 15 and I just remember and it's a bit uncharitable to be honest but the reviewer saying that his interpretation of Bach made Yo-Yo Ma interpretation sound like a schoolboysI repeated that to my musician friend who is a close minded and she got very upset I like playing as well but this is something else

The Willow Song followed by the Ave Maria sung by Desdemona in G, Verdi's Otello are two vocal gems, delicate and transparent. Therefore, I think that only a consummit vocal soprano can "bring them off" this is to say,can achieve what the music dictates. Now, to this recording by Maria Callas, one of my favorites. The day of this recording was not one of her best days. Unsteadiness on the high sustained notes and some sharping on the high pianissimos. Not much, but not there. I forgive her. Nobody is perfect. She was the best in her class and rhein.

Брава любовь моя! Трагедия в том что после Марии Каллас никого не хочется слушать сколько я ни старалась быть непредвзятой.Есть достойные певицы но замены Каллас не предвидется.Никого не хочу обидеть у каждого свой путь и свои поклонники.В чем магия Марии не знаю , но жить без нее не могу...

Oh God! Horowitz didn't played Ballade No. 1 in 1962!!! 이건 심지어 실황이잖아요 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ 호로비츠는 1953년부터 1965년까지 긴 공백기를 가졌다는것은 호로비츠를 방금 막 입문한 사람조차 아는 정보입니다 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ 제발.. 제대로 된 정보를 가져와주세요. CBS인것을 봤을때 1965년 5월 9일 연주를 편집한 버전 혹은 1968년 버전일 가능성이 높을듯 싶은데 짧은 클립만 보여서 뭐라 할수가 없군요 ㅋㅋㅋ 아무래도 1968년 버전 같습니다

This recording is from 1940, not 1939. In case of Rach 3, Rachmaninoff played this on studio for two time. 1939 December 4, and 1940 February 24. In the commercial release version, Rachmaninoff only plays 2nd and 3rd movement in 1939, and 1st movement is from 1940. Not 1939.

This version of Rachmaninoff Concerto No. 3 is from 1951 May 8, and May 10. Every Studio RCA victor recordings of Horowitz are specified, and we could know every recording date include this recording. This LP is from Germany, 1965, MA 25 007-R/1-3 But we can see that this LP specifies the Brahms Concerto and Tchaikovsky Concerto recording date in the LP, but only this is on the booklet, which is hard to believe. Every RCA recordings are specified by lots of people, and also we can see the complete original jacket collection by Sony. In that collection, we could see that this concerto is from 1951, not 1952. Also we could see lots of documents telling this is from 1951 May 8 and 10, but no documents telling this is from 1952 February 26. Just search!
