punisher chair part 2
Punisher Chair Part two. In this episode of Grunt Build we move onto the second phase of our chair build. The seat is comprised of the support frame from pallets and glued together. Sanding and removing layers of wood gets us to a grooved seat. I also prepare the iron bottom to accommodate the seat and Side rails.

Also too; cordura products get ‘feathery’ or fuzzy at the bends after extended use (as a visit to any Bn supply will remind). Has the fabric and webbing started its second career as a sawdust magnet yet?

Hey CWO, Great questions! So after a year of playing and learning where I like my tools; I have had no issues with wearing out. As a matter of fact, it gets easier to wear as time goes on. I expect 5 years of thorough use before I have to replace it.

One more thing is if I had to do it again I would have gone with a shorter apron. The reason is I do blacksmithing and I use it to protect my legs, but I do a lot more wood working then blacksmithing as of right now. If you need any help just let me know.

Thanks for the quick reply. The whole rig looks great and cordura denier has its great advantages. Ideally, I can foresee avoiding a bruise altogether from a kickback incident and just the comfort and tied in feel that comes with webbed milspec materials. Also, the coyote color can mask a myriad of stains I’m sure and when it comes to cleaning, cordura is great at ‘releasing’ stuff. As you noticed my questions revolves around what we both know are inherent characteristics of the stuff, so hence my questions. If you could add anything, where and what would it be? If you could change something what and where would it be? -B

CWO3 Shannon Beaman USMC Ret. On this particular rig the pouches around the mid section are fixed, I would change them to molle if I could. There are times where I wish I could move stuff around. As for nails and stuff like that I would like to see a magazine drop pouch like add-ons so nails are less likely to fall out. And I ended up ending a retractor bowl pencil cord onto the vest for easier access to my pencils.

Ok, so you’re a year in to the apron; thoughts, modifications, etc?? Reason I ask, is that I’m ready for a new apron and do primarily woodworking, machinery repair, home repair, hobby work. I’m considering a Firefly custom or this Atlas 46 Workshop. It looks really stiff and uncomfortable in through the bottom to me in the video. So, wash it 20x or what? Also too what about positioning? It looks low in the front (space between neck and top of apron). I’d appreciate any input you have on it... I think I like the idea most just because coyote gear always makes the wife roll her eyes 😂 S/F, Shannon

This Guy should have been wearing safety harness. This is terribly dangerous work and should only be attempted by those who have the right equipment and experience.
