Can Christian ministers be called priests?
How about Pope Francis who honored in 2023 a guy famous for the so-called "art piss Christ or as he calls it immersion." What a crucifix immersed in the artist's own urine?
Not ordaining women or LGBT is sufficient to dismiss them.
Almost half of the Romanian Orthodox Church baptizes by pouring just like the RC and Protestants, not by immersion. American converts are naive, orthodoxy is what you make of it and you can make it up as you go. There are as many opinions inside the Orthodox Churches as outside.
"They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules.' You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to human traditions.” Mark7:7
Thank you for your blessed testimony! It was very encouraging. I had similar experience in the Orthodox Church, as well as in ICOC (International Churches of Christ), both of them claim to be the one true church and call Christians in other denominations not saved! I understand your pain. It's tremendous to keep conscience clear while thinking that other Christians (for whom Jesus died) are not saved. The Word that was keeping me alive spiritually those times was “The Lord knows his own,” 2Tim.2 : 19. Then the Lord opened my eyes to see that Christianity today is as in first Church of Corinth, full of divisions, rivalry and hypocrisy, (1Cor: 1: 11-13) but God knows His owns, many are called but few are chosen. Now, after long prayers I'm gratefully part of a Evangelical-Baptist Church here in Russia, far from perfection but full of fruits of Holy Spirit, love for the Word of God and the brethren, and most of all: humility, which modern day Pharisees doesn't have. God bless you Andrew. Your name is written in heaven, brother.

I don’t get how you can go to Anglican? Lol
You made a BIG mistake leaving Orthodoxy. Its the truth faith!
Why bother telling the world about your catholic church hang ups? Which church is the true church? The Catholic Church of course, built on rock, Peter being the first physical rock , in the words of Jesus Christ Himself.
Consider the Contiuing Anglican churches
They do not ordain women
I was cradle catholic and became an IFB but I was being drawn back to the Catholic faith but I could NEVER go back to a dying church, I would if it was dying because of being biblical but it’s dying and adopting unbiblical beliefs. It’s not for me. So I’m becoming an LCMS Lutheran.
I really appreciate this thorough breakdown. I have been intrigued by Orthodoxy and really felt the presence of the Holy Spirit in their church/service when I went. It was a beautiful experience. However, I would agree that it isn't the only church or only expression. Anecdotally, I just can't subscribe to that. I'm not sure why God is taking me on this path of visiting many denominations but it is nice to hear from someone who has also been down this road.
This is a question, not a criticism. And what about true apostolic sucession, not present in any anglican denomination, but present in catholicism and orthodoxy? At least as far as I know.
Those Anglican churches that have not ordained women have maintained the apostolic succession. The only papal statement to the contrary was Leo XIII's bull Apostolicae Curae (1896), but as the Roman Catholic priest John Jay Hughes shows in his book Absolutely Null and Utterly Void, the decision on Anglican orders was largely politically motivated. It's reasoning was also fallacious, and it was refuted in the official Anglican response Saepius Officio (1897). It's also irrelevant at this point, as Old Catholic orders (which the RCC acknowledges as valid) were infused into Anglican orders in the 1930s.
@FrAndrewHarrah As I said, it is a question. My knowledge goes as far as a broken succession by royal intervention, which paved the path for loyalist martydoms like Thomas Moore. Along will a later Reform influence. Thank you for the subject matter to study.
I have followed up. Besides the interuption of apostolic sucession by Henry VIII, I found that between 1649 and 1660 the Long Parliament had abolished episcopacy in the Church of England. Most bishops were killed or exiled. So there have been numerous interruptions of apostolic succession. The union with other shismatic churchs in no way solves the problem. I did enjoy and learn a lot from your videos. Thank you.
@@rodolfobracho8442 There was no interruption of episcopal consecrations during the reign of Henry VIII. You are mistaken about that. And during the English Commonwealth and Protectorate, while the bishops were removed from their temporal positions, they were not killed. They were still around at the Restoration, and were in fact restored to their positions. They were consecrated bishops before the *political* disorder, and they consecrated bishops after the Restoration. So the line of succession wasn't interrupted there, either. You are mistaken about that as well.
"Blessed be Jesus and be with my soul. Amen." Saint Rose of Lima.
You left the Holy Orthodoxy because you wanted a watered-down cafeteria like faith
Sounds like the issue with Baptism is an issue of Authority. We believe we are one true Church, with other Churches having valid Baptisms (if done correctly). So they are Christians that are Part of the Body of Christ Thru an imperfrct relationship w the Church
Keep crushing, Father.
Thanks for the interesting videos, I remember listening and watching them as soon as they came out, but I listened to them again today. My own story is very common: I am a young man with an evangelical background who became interested in church history and the church fathers, realizing that they didn't really fit my paradigm. Then I started thinking about the Catholic and Orthodox churches, but I couldn't quite buy into all their claims. Lutheranism (which is the dominant religion in my country, greetings from Finland!) satisfied my needs for a while, but I eventually had some problems with that too. Confessional Lutherans are relatively rigid in terms of following the Lutheran confession, but I started to embrace synergism, I was fine with a moderately high Mariology, I accepted prayers to the saints and other things that go against the confessions... Then I came across Anglo-Catholicism via the internet and fell in love immediately. I have never resonated with any theological tradition as much. But the sad thing is that it is not an option in my country: there are practically no Anglicans here, let alone Anglo-Catholics. I really appreciate the Orthodox Church (it is even the national church here), but I am "Western" in my theology. The Orthodox liturgy is like a foreign country: it is nice to visit there, but I would not want to live there. I also agree with your criticism of the Catholic Church: the Pope seems to cause some kind of scandal every few months and I see that the Church before and after Vatican II is different on many issues. So I am not saying that the changes were necessarily negative, they just eat away at the credibility of the Catholic Church's own historical claims. But the truth is that since Anglo-Catholicism is not an option, Roman Catholicism may be the only option for me in this situation. Confessional Lutheranism is not Catholic enough, Orthodoxy is often too anti-Western, and my current situation of homelessness (I am not a member of any church now) is not a very optimal option either. :-) But on the other hand, I would not like to just "settle" for Roman Catholicism, so I have not made that transition yet. Blessings from Finland!
Difficult situation. Thanks for sharing. May God keep and guide you!
I suspect nothing that hasnt be addressed a thousand times wont be addressed here. Easyern Orthodoxy is true.
Just start attending the society of St. Pius the 10th. Go to the tridentine mass Adore our Lord. present in the Eucharist Go to confession and grow in Holiness

Hello
You are confused insecure fallen angel. Do not criticise any orthodox christian. Extremely confused man seeking help. STOP TALKING.
Do you still pray to the Mother of God or the Saints?
Anglican catholics do
I'd want the Mother of God on my side, that's for sure! 🙏
I appreciate your videos and hope you continue to grow your channel. Do you have any other UA-cam channels that you recommend? I am looking for more biblical commentary such as your videos on Hebrews and 1 Corinthians. I do appreciate your AngloCatholic perspective but would be open to other views as well. God bless.
Thanks Brody. No UA-cam channels with biblical commentary come to mind.
Christ Jesus said many things that at first seem ambiguous and difficult to interpret, ostensibly in order that people penetrate with their own souls into the deeper spiritual meaning. I wonder why the same would be such a problem for the Pope.
I left the Eastern Orthodox Church in 2012.
Why? If you don’t mind me asking.
The only reason people leave the Body of Christ is simple. The same reason Satan rebelled…..PRIDE!!! I know better.
I loved Orthodoxy but then I saw their criticism they are always considering them the most superior of christians. I don't see what's holy in that kind of mindset to fellow christians.
I know I'm a bit late, but I think you will enjoy this link. I grew up Anglican, but now find myself nondenominational, for the moment. The Anglican church in my town was sold and is now a house, along with a number of the other churches in town. ua-cam.com/video/2QM7anD5vSI/v-deo.html
Proximity to eastern traditions helps one understand the nuance of filioque and exactly why it should be a church-dividing matter. I was born into Serbian Orthodoxy and all my life I was lead to believe that Christians simply uniformly suffer and do not stand for anything. It is a very church dividing matter and I am grateful to God for the grace to elevate us in dignity. Where western churches reject paganism, eastern churches maintain the memory of its people and the animistic mysteries glorified through the Godmother and Her Son and God. I'm sorry, but have to say this is a matter of being civilized vs. barbaric -- nations and cultures which have existed for only a few centuries. East continues to meekly suffer the beatings of the modernized and mechanized west.
what makes you so refreshingly different from other aplogists is your obvious meekness and utter sincerity, missing is the smugness and the elitest holier than thou imperiousness. saint paul told us to be gentle in correcting others and that in my opinion makes you the real thing keep doing what you are doing and of course keep asking our lord to show you all things
i love the books of jc ryle do you know anything about him
russian orthodox priests blessing ICBMs... that's all you need to know
Compared to the relatively simple community practice of the first/second century, one must actually question any form of church denomination. Initially, the communities themselves were the center of practiced religion, then the priesthood and bishop's office, including liturgy, ceremonies and abstract theological dogmatics, became the focus. The communal sacrament with a symbolic and spiritual character (commemorative celebration) became a tightly organized "Eucharistic" show ritual, the community became passive spectators, like at a theater performance. This radical separation process between the community and the priesthood was finally sealed with the introduction of the absurd "real presence doctrine" (transubstantiation). Since then, the clergy has ruled over the community with quasi-absolutist authority. Anyone who does not comply or interprets the Lord's Supper spiritually is "condemned" and excluded from partaking of bread and wine - even in the 21st century!
once a catholic, always a catholic
What does this mean exactly? Can you flesh it out?
@@Bbos2383 It's an old catholic saying that once you're part of the church you're forever part of it
I left all the churches because they are filled with masons who are practicing the occult. They chased me out of one church (ORTHODOX) with microwave weapons, and the "priest" tried to put a demon in me by touching the top of my head. When the Holy Spirit exposed them... oh boy.. thought I was going to be killed.
Just saw the video. Sounds like you may have drifted away from some fundamental Orthodox principles. When I decided to join the Orthodox Church I desired the full baptism service because my Baptist pastor did not have Apostolic Succession. There was no grace transmitted in that baptism. In fact, it was denied to be a sacrament. Nothing happens except the person's profession of faith. Of course Orthodox baptism is necessary if you want the grace of baptism. Also, don't Ignatius and Cyprian talk about the unity and catholicism of the Church as being united to the bishop and around the eucharist? What protestants could be part of the Church if we understand the church with the mind of the fathers?
He left Catholic faith because apparently Christians didn't figure out the faith for 1500 years until Luther finally told them (and was a too for the nobility to loot church property and buildings). At least there's over 1000 Protestant denominations to pick and chose your favorite one...
Long story short, Anglicanism allows clergy to marry (both heterosexual and homosexual).
What do you believe about original sin and Baptism?
You should ask God. "Priests" these days are......... less than filled with the Holy Ghost.
Feminism and the alphabet agenda have infiltrated Anglicanism.
They have infiltrated all of them.
Anglicans are literally watered-down Orthodox, it was created to make an easier and more convenient lifestyle lol
I have a question brother, How can anyone who loves and follows Yeshua as LORD and Savior call themselves or anyone else for that matter "Father" when Jesus is clear in Matthew 23:9? I mean this with the utmost love, honor, and respect. This is a sincere question. God bless you and keep you, and may his face shine upon you. -In Christ, John
Thank you for this, John. I do not read our Lord's teaching in Matthew 23 as an absolute prohibition of honorific titles for clergy in the church. If it was an absolute prohibition, then the Apostle Paul would not have called himself the father of the Corinthian church (1 Cor. 4:15). Nor would the apostles have set up teachers and pastors in the church, for Christ is *the* Teacher (Matt. 23:10) and he is *the* Pastor (Heb. 13:20). It doesn't betray Jesus' teachings for men in the church to be identified as the leaders, pastors, teachers, and fathers. Rather, Jesus' point is found in verse 12: "whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted." So if a Christ follower appropriates the title "father" or "teacher" or "leader" or "pastor" etc. in order to lord it over others, or out of a love of their own self-estimation, that kind of self-exaltation has no place among those who follow Jesus as Master.
@@FrAndrewHarrah Thank you for the response. I appreciate your understanding of the question and my heart towards you and the matter. God bless you and your ministry, in Christ Jesus, Amen.
Like this discussion. The orthodox is an apostlic church. In the catholic church there is one baptism, as long as it is done in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. If it was not then baptism is needed to enter the church. If it is not certain that the baptism was done correctly then a conditional baptism is done. Something like, ( dont quote me) If you are not baptized i now baptize you in the name of the Father... Also any Christian baptized correctly is in someway a member of the Catholic church just separated and of course not a full member. If this is an issue between orthodox I'd say its because they have no Patriarch with primacy to decide it and to guide the orthodox. As for your protestants you mentioned, I'd say they had a union to Christ but not fully united to Christ because you are outside the fullness of truth in the Catholic Church.
The strange thing is I constantly hear throughout this video this idea of knowledge and procedure and better procedure and moral works. But I don’t seem to hear is the development of actually getting to know God, and the progression of fruit of the spirit.
