I loved your journal set up very cute! as you're a new creator I noticed you'd not pinned any of your current videos to the home page for your channel so when you arrive it just says this channel has no content you have to click to videos to then see. It may be worth you adding some to your home so people know right away you have some content. Just thought it would be worth you doing so people who click on you see your great work 😊

From what I understand…I don’t know about Dutch door specifically, but a lot of the “Dutch __” expressions in English came into the language back when England and the Netherlands were at war. They used the word “Dutch” as a negative adjective, so “Dutch courage” = the false bravery you feel when you’re drunk, and “Dutch treat” = splitting the bill on a date (which isn’t a big deal nowadays, but used to be an unthinkable error on the man’s part). “Dutch door,” however, seems to have non-pejorative origins. They were simply doors first used hundreds of years ago on Dutch barns. The top half could be opened to allow for air flow, while the bottom remained closed, keeping animals in and predators out.

A Dutch door refers to a type of door that is divided in half horizontally so you can open the top and keep the bottom closed. They originated in the Netherlands which is where the name comes from. The cut journal pages are reminiscent of this door design so people named the style of cut pages after the door.

Beautiful journal! (And stunning video production! Well done). I think the term “Dutch Door” or “Going Dutch” means to split (an actual door, a page, a meal). I think it has to do with when territory’s were divided back in the day.
