I am sorry don’t agree with you regarding the points that you made about UK Biased journalism also works there Otherwise they would have had soo many shitty cars selling in volumes But yes they have good cars too but what people are influenced by is different unfortunately
I have driven Lexus and quality even on entry level suvs like the UX and NX are better than top of the line Merc and Audis not just with interior qualities but also all other premium features that give you quality perception But they aren’t flashy names with Lexus as compared to other brands unfortunately
This what he is speaking is the most important part I was always stressing upon These so called journalists influence what the consumer should need and criticise the ones that won’t give you those features and this will indeed make them powerful mouth piece for consumers as a feedback towards OEMs and this more or less will be influencing product design and product portfolio design I have seen sort of fools with a camera and some team and money doing auto journalism without understanding deeper part of either consumer needs and the difference between wants It needs to be regulated on freedom of such journalism in every segment including auto journalism due to their soft power in influencing people as well as OEMs Even big names like Autocar India don’t have the balls to call out Hyundai or Kia for selling sub standard low safety cars in India compared to their global fleets and it’s such a shame
