I had several family members who served in the military. Bio great uncle U.S Navy. WW II Bio Grandfather U.S Army.WW I Father in law USMC WW II and the Pacific. Adoptive father USAF Korean War Big sister USAF. I truly appreciate this song and understand its meaning and significance.

This was a beautiful version. I had the original version back in the 1960's, by NINI ROSSO on a large album, but that was when I was going back and forth to Vietnam. Along the way the album was destroyed. I still come across a version of it now and then on the internet, and i listen of course. Right after getting out of the service, after five times in Vietnam, I couldn't stand to hear it, or Good Night Saigon, with the helicopter sounds.
