That is brilliant!!! LOVE IT !!!
I love how simple and straight to the point you guys made this video and the feeder! Thanks so much for sharing your gentle expertise!!!
Have you ever put rice bran or pellets in these?
We have not tried those, it might draw moisture and start getting stuck.
I have made many of these for 30 plus years in UP of Michigan. Forget all The pvc pipe it’s waist time. Just take 55 plastic drum an use a 3” hole saw an cut a hole at the very bottom front. Set up against tree an fill with whole corn. When fill just set your foot in front of hole for first bag you dump. The corn will gravity out as deer pull away from front. Painting is waist of time but bear will tip over so lag bolt barrel to tree.
How high up do you mount this?
Just a comfortable feeding height for the deer! Maybe 4 feet
Great idea! Thanks
I like your design and built an exact copy. But here is my experience (failure) and modification if it may help someone. I had everything completely assembled and glued together. I tested it with whole corn and the corn continuously poured out at about 20-25 pounds a minute. I cut two strips of the 4 inch pipe about 3/8” wide and a half circle. I glued these (double-thick) at the edge of each spout to form somewhat of a dam. I then put 3 small screws from the exterior of the pipe through the strips for “insurance”. I also put a 4” strip of traction tape just behind this to create a bit of friction. It worked well after that. I could pull corn over the dam with my fingers and it continued to backfill up to the dam. The screws and friction tape may not even be needed, but I’d rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. I’m glad I tested it before I hauled it way out in the woods.
Nice job, men!
I built one of these after watching your video. Works great. Gonna build a couple more. Thanks for sharing!
Glad it worked for you!👍
Any videos of it in action?
Love watching only thing better would be if we could have been in a stand by you!❤
Nice bro
where yall hunting at im gonna come pay a visit!
We’ll done Mariah! Great time together. Thanks for sharing this.
Great family fun!❤
Wow that’s awesome
So cool 😎
I just got one,...how hard was it to take back down??
What keeps all the corn from just constantly, as soon as you fill it up, from falling out?
Gravity pulls down not sideways, so corn just sits there. That's why he said 7 inch for exit pipe, so it makes a corn pyramid.
🔥🔥🦌🦌🦌🔨🔨🔨🔨
Nowadays it's gonna cost you that much just for the plastic pipe good idea I'd like to see it operate
how y'all tried rice bran outta this type feeder?
What size pvc did you use?
at 1:32 he says 4 inch pipe...so I am guessing its 4 inch pvc pipe.
What part of Arkansas was this?
Nice, I'm going to try this and see how it work's, Thanks!
How long will the corn last?
Squirrels will clean that out in 1 day .
what size pvc and t are you using?
When you strap it to the tree like that do you have any problems with raccoons or any other varmints getting your feed?
You prolly dont care but if you're stoned like me during the covid times you can stream all the latest movies on InstaFlixxer. Been watching with my girlfriend for the last days =)
@Hank Abdiel Yea, I have been watching on InstaFlixxer for months myself =)
What size pipe and T are you using?
Wouldn’t it just be easier to learn how to actually hunt deer than run a feeder all the way to Kansas ? Watch The Hunting Public to help you get started. Much much much more rewarding than baiting deer. Best to all of you guys.
Get off your high horse troll
Turkey hunting is hard in Arkansas I live in Russellville I hunt Kansas and Oklahoma for turkey
You might say the cameraman got a little excited!! 🤣😂. Nice hunt...always like watching !
Please, please put corn in the feeder and show us how it works!!!
What size PVC are you using
Great video ! I Can’t find that stool flange. Can you please attach a link ?
Lowe's, Home Depot, any hardware store. It's a simple toilet flange. Check out my UA-cam video....55 GRAVITY DEER FEEDER
How did the feeders work for you? I'm going to use your design this season. Putting the feeders out this weekend.
They have worked great for us so far, the main thing that we have noticed is finding the right right tree can make it a lot easier for putting the locking lid back on so it closes good! We actually have 2 out in Kansas right now, just waiting for us to make it out there for our rut vacation!! Hopefully it works as good for you as it has for us, good luck this season
I will let you know how it goes. I was thinking of putting a 2x4 between the barrel and the tree. It should create enough gap to access the lid. Without tilting it to much, I hope.
Thanks! Guys I made two feeders. So far two 🦌 down plus a doe. More to go.
box blibd an a feeder really? You guys are horrible. Geezus
Where in NWA are you guys. Got a nephew in Gravette
We are over East of Springdale.
Nice. You just got a new subscriber here from Oregon.
Thanks for subscribing, it is much appreciated!
Half of your food will be gone from racoon's and squirrel's .
How do you get the lid off?
It has a locking lid that just pops right off!
That little buck is going to be a slammer in like 4 years
Ive made a couple of bad shots myself. Terrible feeling. Its not all high fives and good times. But it happens and i still feel the draw to hunt hard every season despite the bad shots and the emotions that come with them. And the beating those animals can take is mind blowing. All that said, thats a fine deer. I cant believe that young buck kept on eating in his own little world.
If you haven't seen hogs well thats cause they are very good at staying outof sight there is a mass population of hogs in Washington county Arkansas we are overrun with them i have took out 4 sows yesterday morning and they all had at least 15 babies A piece maybe the babies will starve without momma hogs don't know
Thanks great idea for long term feeder when getting to the area is a far distance.
my cell cam antenna is set up on a pvc pole just like that lol
Hey man I don’t get service down in the creek bottom where I need my camera to take pics. How did you do it and what is it? I may do it I’ve neevrr seen it before. Thanks!
@@brycerose3813 sorry for the delayed response. I screwed the cell booster antenna to a 16ft piece of pvc pipe at the top and ran the wire inside the pipe down to the camera. It boosted my service from 1 bar to 4 bars. The booster I used was from Spypoint. They are kinda pricey thru them but amazon offers a very similar product at a fraction of the price.
Great buck! Cool hunt!
thats not hunting
Great hunt! I never get tired of hearing the excitement in your voices..love it!!! Blessed!!
Why put the flange on the outside of the barrel. If you put it on the inside going out, there'll be less stress on the bolts and the flange itself.
Mine works best outside. The inside version restricts that last bit of corn. That corn that doesn't fallout gets moldy.
@@EDB0223 so your saying the last little bit gets moldy, but when you fill the whole barrel up....none of it gets moldy before it's all eaten. Your feeding tube is mounted off center, so all of the corn won't fall out anyways. Another problem is your ratchet strap idea.....you are putting a lot of weight tension on one point. Why not just put 4 legs on the barrel and let it stand up. Too low to the ground. Look at the one in the video....a deer has got to get down low and up under the barrel just to get to the feeding tube. What about a buck with a good rack? He won't be able to get to it. If it sounds like I know what I'm talking about, it's because I do. Check out my UA-cam video "55 GALLON GRAVITY DEER FEEDER". I've even done a few more improvements since I posted the video. I shortened the legs to 4 ft. And angled the PVC towards the ground so it would make a small pile on the ground. Works like a pro now. Don't take my comments as rude or ugly. I'm just trying to help with ideas for a better feeder. Good luck hunting!
@@dalewalker2379dude your comments are rude… mouthy in your response.
@kylewhalley3573 I'm sorry that you are getting your feelings hurt over a little constructive advise. If you put your video out there, be big enough when others comment with advise. I was just trying to help. I'll not have another comment on your feeder....build it however you want
Good video!
