In this video I fly my small airplane from Elko, Nevada over the Sierras and back to Concord, CA (KCCR airport). The first leg to Reno Stead was pretty easy, just picking a path through the ridges / mountains. Over the sierras was a little sketchy due to a aerial firefighting TFR over the I-80 near Truckee, CA. @damienradford Місяць тому

I'm trying to remember... I think because I was missing the main return line I had to order all new parts for that, including the bulkhead fittings, the hose to the firewall from the fuel manifold and the hose inside the cabin. The aluminum fuel lines I reshaped and had to experiment with new fittings, especially the one in front of the firewall where it curved around my coolant pipe. The rest of the fuel system was really old so I think I just did it to freshen everything up.

I know it’s old at this point but keep in mind you should have between 1/64-1/32” exposed wire at the end of each crimped connection, the crimp is not supposed to catch on the wire insulation (Garmin manual). Also for new people, the shield drains should face forward towards the pins not backward and then loop around to face the shell.

What did the “IA” you hired have to say, or did you not contact and question him. As a warning and safety precaution to other pilots, and or anyone planning, or are in the process of having an aircraft ferried, this individual needs to be reported to the FAA !! There are lives involved; in your case two. Not including the various family members, or others that might have been involved if an accident had occurred. You may deem this to be somewhat unimportant, and not wanting to upset someone’s well being or their career, that you let it pass, I assure you that when and if I sign my name to an inspection report I’m well aware that someone’s life is in my hands. So, if not for your sake or for the sake of another, do it for the person signing off and approving an un-worthy aircraft.

I also want to change my Bose headsets to LEMO connector, do you think it's better to have the BT in the Garmin or in the Boses? Guess a connected app like Foreflight would broadcast callouts to every headset connected and not just one. Price wise it would be the same.
