BALtiling
Приєднався 20 бер 2015
BAL are the market leaders for tiling in the UK.
Building Adhesives Ltd was created by the British Ceramic Association in 1962 to specifically develop adhesives and grouts for the installation of tiles in the UK at a time when traditional sand:cement fixing was still being used, but changing tile types and backgrounds made this unsuitable. BAL was the pioneer for modern fixing products and practices in the UK.
With these values remaining fundamental, BAL remains the UK market leader with innovative full system solutions and support services.

Q&A with Dave Rowley - Part 2 - How to waterproofing, fixing mosaics and use spacers correctly
The fact that half the stores r closed now is so sad
It's a little over kill using the sheet on a concrete floor yes if it was a timber floor !👍
Loots nice what's the cost per mtr or rolls ???
Depends where you go Derek - we don't control costs from distributors
@BALtiling I'm in Ireland but because I'm in the euro zone I can buy in any European countrie that's cheaper than Ireland as a lot off bal stuff is sold through the UK & this is expensive like ball is made in Spain why can't I buy from Spain directly from the company & get ridddd of the middle man.
Hi Derek, for best prices you need to speak to your BAL distributors in Ireland. To confirm, BAL are based in the UK in Stoke-on-Trent which is where we make all our manufactured products, with our ARDEX subsidiary in Ireland. We have no operations in relation to the UK in Spain.
Very informative but BAL please next time you do something like this invest in a decent microphone.
Appreciate the detailed breakdown! Could you help me with something unrelated: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (air carpet target dish off jeans toilet sweet piano spoil fruit essay). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?
How deep does it need to be to stay into place
Minimum 6mm, and max 20mm. If deeper than 20mm, you will need a foam strip in the joint.
@@BALtiling I do like the videos & yous always reply back but yous should stick a price tag to your products in euros or what currency your. 👍🇮🇪☘️
@@derektierney1314 We don't sell it direct, it's sold through distributors or retailers. They have the power to set their own prices. 👍👍
I have laid a lot of patios before using sandstone and concrete, but I will soon be doing my first porceline patio. I like this product, but I wanted to ask, do you still have to use a SBR slurry on the back of the flags when using a tile adhesive?
Good question, i want to know. Have you done it yet? If so did you prime the concrete, what depth was it, did you do the typical sbr slurry and did you just use external tile adhesive.
Can i use 1/4 inch cement board on a masonry tub/shower wall since it's solid?
Can I use the same adhesive for under membrane which is my concrete subfloor and use same adhesive over membrane for sticking tiles?
What's the blue stuff on the roller
Why can you not pay on compacted type 1 and sand with porcelain?
At last 😂😂
At 0:24 it says "mark 50mm up", so why does the video show him marking 150mm up...?! What is the correct height, 50mm or 150mm??
'promosm'
is this available in the USA
Which glue dries slow for wet rooms
Does this go into plasterboard?
Can I get a translator, please? 😆
Do you have to tile 3 hours later? Or can you come back and tile any time?
You idiot mo need to prime , and for what the gap tape 😂😂😂😂 if you Gina tile on top
Bal best stuff on the market 💪🏻
Fantastic music choice.
The tiles were already grouted actually.
Ive used this the other day good stuff & drys out quickly to a super hard finish with some unusual colours in its range, So yeh good stuff.
Dude you should off left the handel on that brush that way you wont be on your knees, think smarter not harder 🤔👍☘️🇮🇪
12 hours later - Is that just water you use to clean it?
Yes just water
@@BALtiling when you say 12 hours , is there a window or is it anything over 12 hours?
why you grouting the tiles and the grout lines?!
You grout the lines and fill the joints with a cement-based grout, then clean off any excess off the face of the tile
Promo SM
What thickness of type 1 needs to go down first ?
We do 150mm compacted type 1, then 40/50mm sharp sand and cement 4:1 bed with 6mm mesh in the whole area. Has load strength then and also tensile strength. Anything fairly big without steel will end up cracking and tiles will move.
Hi what colour was the bal terrace grout in this video thanks
Dark Grey
Can I do this process over a stained concrete patio? Greetings from Los Angeles
What mixes do I do for tile on tile? And how long to leave between coats?
I think using mix of cement and sand for leveling layer and do leveling together with tile installation might be easier
They are showing how it needs to be done...you can do with sand/cement/slurry mix, as it's one of the ways how novadays people are doing as it's cheaper. I still do concrete base and porcelain is going with exterior tile glue.
I could be wrong, but this looks like a load of bollox
Plaster wall will it work
how many square meters can we cover wıth one bucket?
The screw went straight through the backer board at 1:47 - better use a slower speed on your driver :D
No explanation as to how to pre-fix the wall plug . . . .
Didn't really go into the mechanical fixing process properly I mean using one drywall screw into block what was that all about you need to do the video again but do it properly for my and everyone else's benefit please! Emmmm you lost me on the drywall screw ahahah
Hi, Just purchased BAL WP1, want to see how to use it😊
Can I ask how much it cost and how did you find using it? Looks quite straight forward in the video
The old kit was pre-mixed. This looks like a right faff about.
So I'm laying some 20mm thick porcelain tiles onto an external concrete slab and tile wholesalers recommended this stuff...the slab 4mtr X 5mtr has some run off(fall) to drains etc. Now I did the slab and it's pretty level but not perfect I'm sure..my dilemma with this stuff is it looks like you have to rely on the sub floor being perfectly level. As in...if your doing the more traditional back buttering of the tiles if gives you a little more scope to setting your levels more accurately...using let's say a 20mm notched trowel you could vary you level by up to 10mm by the amount of pressure/vibration you apply to the tile as you bedding it down...with this stuff it appears, mainly because your not back buttering, that this option is not there..? Appreciate any thoughts as I'm kinda leaning towards a more traditional back buttering approach.
Useful video thanks. Would the BAL FLEX be suitable to use with my ceramic tiles in the hall? 2mm gap and 250mm tile size.
These videos are a load of crap . Why do you show a glass tile being pushed down to show a solid bed show everyone how you fit the next 20 glass tiles around it and push them down the same for solid cover , lets see if theres any lipped tiles.
Definitely one of the more complex one on the tube… too many steps and don’t even want to think of the material cost
Not sure it's that difficult? Prepare MOT, lay slurry primer, mix Bedding Mortar with water, lay mortar and compact down, slurry bond back of tile and mortar and lay the tile?
𝔭𝔯𝔬𝔪𝔬𝔰𝔪
Word of the day....ACTUALLY
Do you prime the masonry wall prior to putting the tile adhesive on?
Depends how porous it is. Very porous masonry will need to be primed, yes.
This is not a case study. After the location description it is the same video as the original advert!
I've been looking for a way to add some curb appeal to my front yard and back patio so this is perfect. Thank you so much for sharing!
You are welcome!
