I've always really loved this song. A shame that it was truncated in the movie, but look for the full version on the Riot on Sunset Strip soundtrack album. The 12-string really makes the song...can't think of another one with quite the feel of this one.

@hookalakah That's right! On that three hour aircheck of Dave Diamond's Diamond Mine from 06-16-67 he plays this and "Weatherman". I think he might've played "In My Mind Lives A Forest" also. If you don't have that show, get it.

This is one of my pet peeves. I just can't stand when corporate greed overrides common sense and logic. Duh! If they close up all the shops, they SURE won't sell any CDs! Maybe they should consider lowering prices! It's about their only hope! At Sony, I learned that a single jewel case costs about 17 cents. They are already making a hellacious profit! It wouldn't kill them to lower the price a little.

@gwugluud I know precisely what you mean. And it is hard to actually describe that quality of feeling you're talking about. But it's there...and it has to do with the era and the incredible changes that were going on in the culture at that time. It was this amazing feeling of revolution and endless possibilities. It was a wonderful time to be a teenager in. I felt like the whole world was transforming right in front of me. Beatles, Hendrix, Canned Heat, Ten Years After...it was incredible!

I swear, some 60s stuff has this "etherealness" to it that just DOESN'T HAPPEN in any other of rock's epochs. I can't put my finger on what I'm talking about exactly. I mean there's a profundity, a depth.
