Home Jam #2 (Behringer Neutron/EHX Cathedral/Push 2)
I've been inspired by Nick Bat's from @sonicstate in his Friday Fun jams so I did this patch on Behringer Nutron and send it to Electro-Harmonix Cathedral Stereo Reverb which I borrowed from a friend of mine.
What I did here in terms of patching the Neutron.
Here is two main thing that made it sound like that.
1. I route LFO unipolar output into Attenuator 2 and out of it to Delay Time. LFO has been set to Square and I tuned Attenuator so it changes pitch drop in delay in one octave (you can set it by any interval of your taste).
2. I route Assign out (which was res to Aftertouch) to MULT in and divided the signal. First one I route it trough SUM A along with LFO out routed to SUM B and out of SUM1 I send it to FREQ MOD in. From MULT 2 I send to Attenuator 1 and out of it to Resonanse. I set the amount of intensity by the taste os as harder I was pressing Push's pads as higher the resonance was.
That pretty mush it.
Enjoy and share this music.

    Some say the Mininova is a copy of the Microkorg but apart from the Vocada and the size/shape they are nothing like each other.

    I hate you for teaching me how to program the MicroKorg. It was one of the last areas of mystery, peril and intrigue in my life now it's just something I know well enough to teach to someone else. You took something beautiful and spiritual away from me and replaced it with confident and competent understanding. My brain is now full of forbidden knowledge, yet my soul has emptied. You absolute monster.

    Thanks for this very good tutorial. You're so freakin fast haha.. the Micro Korg is one of the best pieces I have ever bought. I;m a guitarist, and I don;t even use that many boxes. I try to leave the tech department to others, but I love Micro Korg, and I love what it can do. I realize now, I have been using, maybe only 15% of the synth.

  • @lundsweden
    @lundsweden 3 роки тому

    Haha, the buttons have been a weak point on Korg's since the 80s (they can be fixed though, often just oxidised contacts). The MicroKorg must have something going for it, its coming up to 20 years in production! I had no idea that this little guy had the Korg DW Series waveforms in in- cool! I think this synth has unfairly been associated with hipsters/posers, but who cares about that? All that matters is the SOUND!

    Such an iconic synth... and a good tutorial, too! I tried an original Microkorg back in 2010 or so, and enjoyed it. So I bought one... but got the XL version since it was newer and had a more powerful engine. Oops. I didn't realize how bad the interface was, or how much that mattered. It's virtually unusable for patch creation purposes, so it's pretty much limited to only presets. I should have gotten an Ultranova instead, or a Blofeld, or even a Korg R3. They were around at the same time and were much better. If I was starting today though, I'd go for something else. The Bass Station II is a good option as a starter synth... or the Microfreak. Or for something nicer, a Hydrasynth desktop is both easy and incredibly deep. Or for learning, a Microbrute or Minibrute 2 is easy and educational (though not terribly practical since it can't load patches). Anyway, you got the good one. There's a reason the original Microkorg is the best-selling synth in history.

    • @liuchaquan
      @liuchaquan Рік тому

      oh wow thank you for saving me from almost buying an XL!

    • @ToyKeeper
      @ToyKeeper Рік тому

      @@liuchaquan The Hydrasynth Explorer and Arturia Minifreak are both great options these days. At least, that's what I would probably get. A synth is kind of secondary to a tool to record and arrange sounds though, so I'd go for that type of core tool first, before getting a synth. My favorite one is the Akai Force, but it really depends on what your goals are.

    • @user-oe6wp8jy9p
      @user-oe6wp8jy9p 3 роки тому

      It was my beginner synth-- but I didn't really understand how it worked until I got a korg MS20 mini. I would recommend a monosynth like the korg ms20 or the arturia microbrute to a beginner who wants to learn synthesis, and the microkorg for a beginner looking to use synth presets -- both are completely valid in my book! The microkorg is, as mentioned in the video, a 21st century synth legend. :)
