Qatar: The Most Extravagant Stopover (and Why You Should Go)
I randomly got recommended your channel. Like it so far 🙂 If you want to do some great flyfishing, you have to come back and go to River Soča. The whole Soča Valley is a pearl. I'm not an angler but people can't seem to say enough good things about fishing in River Soča. I'm glad you enjoyed my country. Hope you manage to come back some day. 🙂
Hey, thanks for the feedback. We absolutely loved Slovenia and will definitely be back in the coming couple of years. Easily the most beautiful country I have been to. Its funny that you mention The Soca river. I had arranged to fish it for 3 days with a guide but unfortunately I injured my knee while fishing in New Zealand a few months prior. It didn't heal well and I ended up having Knee surgery 4 weeks before our trip which meant it was wise to cancel the fishing. I would have been in a lot of trouble had I injured my knee fishing in the first few days of our trip!
I’m not in Australia but this looks backward. And very anti saving as you’ll be penalised the more you have.
I had a text just the other day from Elon Musk 2:26 saying to go to Instagram to invest in cryptocurrency 😂😂😂 I knew good and well that he wouldn't waste 2 seconds on me.
We loved Slovenia and had a very similar itinerary of activities. Unfortunately, we did not have time to visit Lake Bohinj. Hopefully, we will be able to go again sometime as it looks beautiful. We had a rental car for transportation that we picked up at Zagreb Croatia airport. It did make traveling more convenient.
You will have to go back and check out Lake Bohinj it was a highlight for us. I can see how having a car would make life easier. We made the public transport work and then headed on to Austria. It's an advantage for you guys that you don't have to drive on the opposite side of the road like we do.
Yall two seem like a wholesome couple, thank you for visiting our contry, hope you had a good time. Hopefully you also went to Bled and to other attractions in that area 😊
Hey there! Thanks for watching our little video! Our video on our trip to Bled and Bohij drops in about 12 hours!! H@pe you have a look.
Thanks for this informative vlog! May I please ask if most shops (including the open market) accept credit cards?
Glad you enjoyed it! We had no issue using credit cards. We only needed to use cash when making small purchases, pretty much the same as at home.
Wow. This looks like a beautiful place. We hope to visit Slovenia one day. Thanks for showing us around 😊👍
Glad you enjoyed it! Put Slovenia on your list for sure it is a beautiful country.
What an amazing adventure in Slovenia! Exploring castles, caves, and the thrill of bear hunts makes for such a captivating journey. The stunning landscapes and rich history are truly unforgettable. Thank you friend for sharing this incredible experience with us. We join your channel! Best wishes, Chiara & Donato Fuoridalsentiero.
Thanks for joining! We had a wonderful trip. Slovenia certainly has some beautiful landscapes and we loved learning about the history.
Hi! We live in Ljubljana and love it here. Reach out for collabs!
Sounds interesting. What can you offer?
Great!
Thanks!
Nice video! You had a similar itinerary as we did (minus the Bear hunt). However, we spent a few days at Lake Bled before heading to Piran. It was beautiful and worth the short trip.
We certainly had the same itinerary, next video is Piran and then Lake Bled and Lake Bohinj. Glad its bringing back memories for you. There were plenty of Americans there when we were.
Unfortunately, it is not secret any more..😢. I wish could be.
We can see why it is gaining in popularity!
Hope you enjoyed Ljubljana.
We loved it! Our time in Slovenia was the highlight of our time in Europe.
Ljubljana is a beautiful small city and a great place to start day trips to other places in Slovenia.
You’re right, Slovenia is a beautiful country.
Glad you enjoyed the vid DIYGuy. We really loved Slovenia. Next week we will drop a vid on postjonja , the cave, castle and a hunt for bears. After that one on piran. H@pe you subscribed and liked as we would love to grow the channel. Cheers.
We just got back from a trip in September to Slovenia and Croatia! Looks like you may have had a similar itinerary. Looking forward to your videos. Keep up the good work.
is it asset test or income test (whichever is lower) or is it added. Income test reduction + asset test reduction = total pension? And, if an asset is earning income, is the income from the asset goes to income test (reduction) + same asset in the asset test reduction = total pension
And for people prince character stayed my grandfather huts their is more on google
My grandfather helped Fred fry hut near the stoneys the ones her were no built after the second war
That's a great link to the history of the area!
Most definitely is a gem id you can rugged because most people do not know about we Victoria has to offer
Very true! But it did mean we had the place to ourselves :)
dumb question...is the $204 per fortnight for a single the gross income or net after tax?
Hi, im 61 years of age australian born and living off my super and bank savings at moment over in Philippines since 2022 as i couldnt afford to live in australia etc. My question is do i need to be living back in australia to get the pension, what i have read is that i need to be back in australia for 2 years prior to receiving the age pension, or is it 2 years after the age of 67 years ? so i dont loose the pension when i move back overseas ?? Any help or ideas please . thanks When does the yearly cycle start from which Month > so i can organise my return around the date .thanks
So if a couple makes $360 a fortnight = $9,360 pa do they have to pay tax on this? They just do a tax return to declare it?
Lovely Ep and spots guys
Thanks for the kind words Craig.
Lovely ep and spots and cook up guys
Glad you enjoyed it
Did you replace the firewood. Free camp and you expect free hot water. Really
Glenhope station is not a free camp. For a fee you have access to the firewood, showers, which were warm enough, power if you need it too. Not sure where you got free camp from. I should have said it was a paid camp but I thought with those things available and the fact it was a station it would have been obvious.
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
And if you've never worked a day in your life , you get full pension . Your allowed to earn 100 dollars a week , before it effects your pension lol . what are you going to do with 100 dollars . Enough to put fuel in your car , but not enough to pay your power bill that keeps rising . Polies need to be on the same scheme , not pension for life , even though their miilonaires . We need to look at where their making all this money .
Living in the U.S., this is SOOOO confusing!!! What does a "homeowner" mean? Do you have to have paid off the mortgage??
Asset test is a DISCRIMINATE against any RETIRERS who can invest their money. The ASSETS TESTED is a cover-up for the word TAXES. BY TEXTING THE RETIRERS is a sign of DISRESPECT to those who have PAID their taxes. These thousands of dollars taken from the Elderly reduces their pension payments to up 40% lose. At the same time, there are many X members of parliament receiving thousands of dollars as they pension. This is a sign of VICIOUSLY.
It is not good, if you have big house you have to live in that house until you die. You can’t sell the house or if you sell the house you have to to match the price so that it doesn’t affect your pension. Stupid rules makes old people stuck in their house life long. If they make extra profit in their existing house after selling, your pension will be cut or reduced. It discourages people to sell their house and buy a small unit.
very imformative thanks peter
Can we take the government to court for fraud? Super was promised to us to enhance OUR retirement, not to relieve the government retirement obligations.
The politicians are coming after our money ,we have paid tax all our working life and you get nill pension however our politicians get it and it's a full pension
This is not a pension,it is a supplement.
Australia has Double standard when it comes to retirement, oc course there is the state pension. But when it comes to investment you have the Family Trust fund and you have pensioners who invest independently. The different between these two investments are Family Trust Fund allows the pensioner to keep their full pension but at the same time they families will look after them in whatever they want. Now this is were a pensioner decided to invest independently the government immediately reduces part of their pension under the "assets test, words for is Taxes ". The independent pensioner who invest is very "similar as family trust fund investment " thinks that they can then take money from your pension up to 40%. So a single pensioner investor will find themselves annually with $17,423.30 a lose of $11,594.70 from annual of $29,023. When it comes to fortnightly the reduce to $670.05 from $1,116., a lose of $445.95. You reckon the government will take any notice , they need their increase in their salary. 😱😱😱😱😱😱
If you want to keep pension transfer your asset to your family, under the FAMILY TRUST FUND just like wealthy people do and then your will full pension. Your family will help you whenever you need something which you under your pension is to expensed. Never invest as a single person because you will find yourself with the lose of about 40% of your pension. If single your pension annually would be $29,023, (single) but the government will take around $11,594.70 and you will only have $17,423.30 . When it comes to your fortnightly pension you only receive $670.05 out the normal amount of $1,116, a lose of $445.95 . This is called ASSETS TEST. it feels more like discrimination and victimise. Yet this government expects us , taxpayers, to give millions of dollars to aborigines and this has been going on since the 1970s. And then aborigines want to take over Australia with the help of the LABOR PARTY.
The asset test is a discrimination against anyone who is from the "lower level of society "!!!!!!!! if you sale your main asset, your house and independently invest your money. They then assess your investment and decide to reduce your pension. They only support of those who can cheat the system by forming a relationship with their children and create a "FAMILY TRUST FUND " and keep the FULL PENSION . A lesser person wil find themselves losing money from their pension (up to 40%) making it hard to balance in spending without touching their investment money. While a pensioner whose money in their children"FAMILY TRUST FUND " can still can ask their children for or help? to buy anything they want with no worries of struggling with they pension.
It’s so offputting the music in the background of somewhere else

Number 1 Retirement Tip - own your own home by the time you retire so that you don’t have a mortgage or a landlord.
Really enjoyed this. The chicken looked great too! We camped at Fry’s Flat a couple of weeks ago and it was freezing (but beautiful) Love your floof 🐾
Been retired for 25 years & never ventured onto social media, it's for complete idiots. As for Elon, he's a total scumbag & you should've told him so & saved your time. 😉
Your chicken cook-up looked amazing & it's good to see young whipper snappers getting out there. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Know that area well. Camped at Fry’s first time this year. I have walked to from Fry’s to Sheepyard along the river then back on the road. And aren’t those huts and campgrounds the other way along the river something else. I just love it. Thank you.
Ive been going up there for over 40 years and still love it. Learned to flyfish on that river, I think I know every fish by name now.
Just make sure you retire with your own wealth forgetting the pension simple 👍😉😁
So true!
I would love to keep working well into my 80s if health permits & employer still wants to hire me.😀
Some people don't have that option.
@@garynew9637 yes agree it takes discipline through life even after 2 devices and third time lucky all hard work and sacrifice 🤔👍
@@Xyz99924 my dad worked till 76 I’m a builder and doing my own house renovations no more customer work at 60 👍😉😀
Great video. I must get out there one day.
You should!
great video - thanks so much for sharing ☺️
Yeah, bookings and timings are everything. When we toured Italy we spent three days in Florence a saw lots of it, but the main Cathedral of Santa Maria was 20 Euro entry. We had been used to going into grand cathedrals all over Italy for no charge, so gave it a miss. Later we arrived at the Pitti Palace to discover the 6pm closing time meant they shuffled everyone out at 5pm, so we had to race through and missed the costume museum upstairs. In Rome, after sheltering from a thunderstorm downpour for an hour, we queued for another hour to get into the Vatican, saw St Peters, but the Sistine Chapel was closed at 5pm and we missed that too
To start the trail from Woolamai, park the car at Bass township then ride the 5 km to Woolamai on quiet rural back roads. In Wonthaggi the best place to stop is the Whistlestop Bakery on McBride St or the Wonthaggi Hotel (with the whalebones outside) just down the street. If you had followed the trail on further it loops around and ends at the Cape Paterson Rd, just a km away from the State Coal Mine. An easy route to follow.
