Gerhard Berger chasing Ayrton Senna at 1990 Monza F1 GP - 25 minutes on board cockpit
Gerhard Berger was such an underrated driver.
Too bad there was no telemetry back then.
the radio cord - the HANS system of the era. edit: also: soundporn =b
♥️ senna 🏴
The quality of this footage is amazing: 4k UltraWidescreen back in the early 90s 😂
He must to win a world championship trophy!❤❤❤
Look at that basic steering wheel compared to the modern wheels which are like computers. Sad.
I don't want to be the stereotypical "old good new bad" person but I think this T1 of Monza flows much better than the current one. Probably had less overtakes because of the tightness though.
When f1 was worth wtching still!
What you are seeing here is how deep their friendship has gone. I am from Austria and read the great book that Berger made. these two guys were just very good friends, and senna loved Gerhard. On days like this he was so much faster than anyone, but he let go of speed when he saw it was his buddy and teammate behind him. and then he gave him draft and also showed lines. once when he was allready world champion for that year he braked on the start finish line to give Berger his first win. Senna was a great man, and Gerhard Berger still is to that day!
Not sure if Senna would have been so generous with his friendship if Berger was good enough to actually challenge him. The way he handed that race to Berger actually appeared to many people as ungracious and humiliating, in that he made it clear who won the race by pulverizing Berger all race then obviously backing off at the last possible moment. Don't get me wrong, I think Senna was a good man at heart, but I think we can acknowledge he was at the same time totally ruthless in competitive psychology.
@@zetecryt "but I think we can acknowledge he was at the same time totally ruthless in competitive psychology." this is an essential skill/trait that all the greats have alike. there is something about winning or being better than others that only few comprehend and even fewer understand. and as i consider myself as one of the comprehensive group, i came to the conclusion that i dont want to be a winner, because i dont want to be an asshole in my job xD
1990 Williams FW13 6 speed manual transmission...not sequential not semi auto. Not til 1991.
Perfect sound. Perfect handling of the cars. Fantastic duo!
Sensacional ❤❤

I want to see MS on this car. Ayrton would have big problems to get him back..

This od F1❤
The sound of this car was scary...!
Holy shit Senna was fast
The last 3 minutes are not Monza, it is USA (Phoenix).
His driving is so wild , but this is his style. most of us miss this F1 so much ,,,, right??
I would more say “the appearance of his driving is wild”. Like a master abstract artist. Watch him paint, his actions may seem random, wild and uncontrolled, but look at the finished piece. An incomparable work of art. Expressive, meaningful, profound, reflecting an organic precision and “rightness” comparable to the natural world.
Ayrton was teaching him how to do qualification laps each time during the race.
raw downshifting, nostalgia, maybe i'm allready dead...............those political correct people of nowdays. After Kimi left, there's no human in F1
Im fairly sure one of design criteria for the up-coming semi-automatic gear boxes was to shift as fast as Berger.
@22:00 - Some EPIC Phoenix 1991 Qualifying onboard at the end of this video too! :-O
The downshifts after the straight in Monza sound so brutal and unbelievable quick (he had to shift by hand).
These downshifts seem very smooth compare to those made by Senna in 1988 at Suzuka. There is here on YT a video with a comparison between Senna and Prost at Suzuka, and you can hear distinctly how Senna was « brutal » in his style very opposed to the Prost’s one, smooth and calm.
I wander how difficult should be to get to the chicane after the finish line, passing from 360 km/h down to 100, reducing gears and doing It with only One Hand on the weel
i never watch f1 any more 2021 is like a bullshit computer game want old style back
These were the days. Weeeeeeeeeeee..............
Austrian guy chasing brazilian guy in a honda civic
Musical rain from Honda McLaren engines
It was good to find this video since I was at Monza on spot at back streach. Nice old days for me and NA F1.
Senna . The man from another dimension.
