Chapter 9's _Final Lesson_ is a major turning point in the story. The impact of this moment is felt across the remainder of Part 1. Unfortunately the artificial stigma that Himeko was implanted with when she became a Valkyrie was nowhere as good as a natural stigma. She'd been suffering from Honkai poisoning for a long time. The Honkai Chronicles missions (a side apart from the story missions) you can play that relate to Himeko have her delving recklessly into a massive cavern system where it's rumoured she could find a way to get a natural stigma, which could save her life if true. Here, too, Himeko could have used the Honkai Inhibitors on herself. She would lose her powers to fight the Honkai, but she wouldn't die of Honkai poisoning, at least not immediately: losing her power to fight would mean someone else would have to try to use the Key of Blankness to fight the Herrscher of the Void in Himeko's place. Himeko chose to gamble everything on Kiana, that the Honkai Inhibitors would help her seal the Sirin personality and regain control. She put everything she had into getting past the Herrscher's defenses to make it happen. In doing so, she pumped power from the Gem of Haste through the prototype Godsbane battlesuit so quickly that it broke, and naturally she suffered the Honkai Cascade almost immediately. But that was also what was necessary to create a miracle in this case. After, with the Imaginary Space created by Sirin crumbling, Himeko fell into the Sea of Quanta together with the Vermillion Knight: Eclipse battlesuit. At this point nobody is in a state to true to follow and rescue her, nor do they have the capability to go into the Sea of Quanta themselves. Transit into the Sea of Quanta requires special facilities, or at the very least, the power over space that the Herrscher of the Void possesses.
