Did BCT at Fort Dix, C-2-3, August-Sept 1969. Senior DI Walter Salley, DS Snow, DS Luten, SSG Timmoms, First Sgt Thomas Besselman. Tough Bastards. Top had a CIB with one star from Korea and RVN, SSG Timmons had CIB with two stars from WWII and Korea and RVN. They were pretty rough on us but they wanted us to be prepared for war.

I went to Boot Camp back in July 1979 A-3-3.

I did my basic training in 1981. The drill sergeant did not play when I was in. They called you every name in the book and would kick you in the butt. If you didn’t do what they said do. The training I received and the way they were treated in 1985 was similar to how I was treated. Today it’s a different story in basic training.

Last of the draftees. Basic training for me 1972. D-1-3. Basic OD green fatigues, Athletic shoes ? LOL. We wore combat boots regardless of what we doing.

Fort dix is only a national guard base now right? I jumped out of there before and i heard basic training used to go on there. Curious when they stopped basic training there.

Basic training 1989 Fort Dix NJ ended up doing 25 years , got an early retirement 😅

*I went to Fort Dix Basic Training in September 1980. I served B-1-5 and was Platoon Leader. I will never forget my experience under Drill Seargant Kenworthy. Even to this day, I have never forgotten Basic Training. It's one of those things you never forget*

I went there summer of 87 but i don't recall learning about using the military phone or the Soldier Stakes.

A-2-3 1985 10/2- 12/ ?? Cant believe how fast time flies.

I flew 60 missions in the Crazy Horse system in 1989. I believe the origination airfield for the video was Libby AAF. I do not recognize the destination airfield.

i think one day we the U.S.will bring back the draft to the Army & maybe women too. 🗽🏈🥏🧿

Atkinson was my platoons D.I. , I will always remember him and respect him.

I was there in 84 and 85 the female D. I . In video was named Jackson she was my assistant D.I.

C-4-3. Summer of 83.

I went thru basic starting in January of 1990. Looking at this video I could almost smell the wet stinky dirty BDU's and the boot polish. I didn't even know half way thru basic that we had laundry facilities in our building. The Drills actually made everyone do laundry one weekend because we stunk so bad, that was the only time I washed my uniforms and tees and underwear and socks. lol. God I miss those days.. they went like a whirlwind. Bombarded with everything imaginable, always confused, tired and hungry, trying to keep up. Made friends with guys i still think about to this day, of course there was no social media back then so that was the only time I saw those guys. I decided awhile back that I want those guys to live in my memory just the way they were back then. If I could go back in time for just a moment, that would be one of the times on my list.

A-2-3 Summer of 1986

Hooray ! A brother group of the best warriors .was 89 E-2-39 third Hurd the best platoon of the company in basic . Was trained as a airborne ranger style .had the best drill Sargents and LT and co.captian ,loved our first Sargent .I never laffed so hard doing push ups before .you Damm cockbites get down and give me 50 I bite your jugglar vein out ya laffing .the way he said it too funny .us biggest in our company got dropped and beated our faces but they made us one hell of a group anyone would run from us even the devil .Hooray Ft Dix . Love my brothers and sisters .I am 53 now a proud vetran and proud to say I am a soldier .

Basic Training Arrived September 86 E-5-3 Drill Sergeants Vanderpool and Verano

Just recently found my basic training yearbook. Did my basic in Nov. 1986, A-4-5! You don't forget your time, no matter how long ago it was.

Last all male company in 1981, E-5-3, SFC Hanson.

When I went to basic in 1990 at Fort Benning it was actually training. It wasn't this passive be kind type training. Drills got knee deep in that ass and you beat you're face till you puked. You had fear yet respect for the drills and that's how it should always be.

Was in A-3-3 third platoon Rangers. I don't ever regret going in. I am PVT Roach. Retired from the military in 2008. Retired as a SSG. served in Three overseas deployments. And had completed three tours of duty in korea. The army was one of the best things I had ever done. God Bless my fellow veterans. And God bless america. Who would have ever guessed I would ever see myself from 1985 in 2022!!!

1981 FT Dix....Alpha 4-3 .1st platoon (First Force) Thank you SGT. Williams! for turning me into a real man. I understand now after 40 yrs ago what in the hell you and SFC Benjamin were doing . After I came out ,I had no idea what to do so...I joined The California National Guard.

I Graduated Basic Training Aug 1982. Delta 3/3. My Drill Sgt’s. SSG Greenough, SGT Ortiz, SSG White. 1SG Green. CPT Moore Company Commander. I Served 22 year. Retired a MSG. I have to say I had good Sergeants.

Went to basic at Ft Dix in 1982 I was 17..it was hard but I made it E3-3

I did basic training at Fort Dix in 1984 straight out of high school.

Old memories of basic training at Ft Dix... I was in C-5-3 (Platoon 4) that started in July 1985.

PLDC 1993 here.

I was there doing this time. I was in Charlie Company.
