This is a civil matter between the residents and the council, this officer is only there to stop a breach of the peace. He hasn't any right to stand there talking about solicitors and amey. Another corporate tyrant that no longer hold their oath to serve and protect the public.

Wikipedia on Amey Plc, say that in March 2018, that put a pause on the plan to remove the trees, is that true? I notice from an article in the Midlands newspaper, that they call 5G "Mobility Technology'.

So suggest continuing to document structural condition of every felled trees inner heartwood condition. Along with determining trees species and final ages, by counting up stump rings. This might help reinforce your organizations position when counsel reconsiders standards for age profiling. Also suggest asking for scientists guidance in explaining how certain native species, once reaching fully mature stages. Can literally be defined as a whole ecosystem alone. Such as ancient locally evolved Elm & Oak, considered by ecologists to be UK ecosystems namesake species.

*Please STAG, suggest reviewing following details if willing to prevent such future recurrences caused by replacement trees 100 years from now!!* _Above all else, understand how Amey is an Engineering firm. And how professional Arborist are required to be completely unattached, by having no personal interest in trees cultural or ecological value. In order to prevent conflict of interest between public safety and love of trees._ *_I am fully aware of all this, as a city Tree historian & certified Arborist whose responsibility is communication between public, professionals and elected officials._* And because I also agree safety is highest priority, my efforts involve early prevention from potential disease, construction damage, and threat by future developers. Out of any Engineering disciplines, worst fails continue to be produced by construction engineers. Which lack experience responsibly following Arboricultural Engineer specifications! Just like already damaged drainage pipes actually invite roots, engineered grade compaction forces roots to grow between ground surface and street/walk surface. Thus scientifically producing hydraulic lifting of walk. In fact, prehistoric rock quarry engineers utilized expanding root growth to separate huge slabs along natural cracks. Now here in Chicago, we invented parkway green spaces between sidewalks and curbs. And because of setting out new grid system before neighborhoods were built. Longer lots allowed homes to be built farther back from street. Otherwise before that time, trees had to be planted well back from curbless or shallow curbed streets. And closer to black cinder sidewalks. Since engineering change over 135 years ago, deeper poured curbs have successfully shunted tree root growth from street encoursens. Best suggestion for Sheffield, would be encouraging installation of public trees within front yards, on other side of walks. Cooperation would allow town to maintain street trees installed within private front yards. Staggering tree plantings along block results in more room for tree crowns to expand. Rather than all planted closely alongside each other. Which might not be possible along your towns streets. Where residents use front yard space to park their cars off street. And because of more even grade from street to car park, old style granite slab curb system is too shallow to prevent roots from growing into street. In fact, I was surprised to see hardly any street lifting caused by roots. Regarding ADA requirements for disabled and impaired folk using sidewalks. Installing new sidewalk over tree roots works great, and grinding back roots to reinstall sidewalk back to grade is worst option. And resulting in bad public image when roots inevitably do damage when growing back. See, scientifically. Thats whats supposed to happen when roots face conditions. Thus, construction representatives like Amy who never took time to research nor invent solutions. Blame trees!! What disturbs me, is how no one has released official paperwork after so called experts diagnosed conditions as too costly to correct. Since here in USA, we have freedom of information act. And some communities even require several independent professionals diagnosis filling out forms detailing their diagnosis. Imagine a modern Engineer satisfied with +5'-5' from specified center. Would light pole or Fire hydrant installation still be acceptable practice if 10 inches too deep? Yet today most towns contract out tree plantings to construction engineering firms. Assuming their crews are professional excavators who can dig best hole for tree. While empirical documented figures reveal fact, that road, utility and building contractors continue to be #1 cause of public tree damage. Thus they are the most guilty of needlessly causing future public safety issues, and causing future valid reasons for required public tree removal. Which specifically requires strict adherence to things like tree installation measurements. Or pre-planned clearance specifications detailing (TPZ) Tree Protection zones. So obviously this harsh lesson will allow many other communities to prepare. First, by keeping up with local board activities. As biggest primary cause of Sheffield's present problems, had been passage of contract agreement for road project back in 2012. And second, lesson to install new public trees using proven methods that would prevent roots from such hardscape incursions in future. So I can only ask, why has it been OK to replant new trees in same spots. Waiting until new street work upgrades completed would be prudent. Also, expect continued settling where huge dead underground roots decompose. Another question, is same Amey contractor installing new trees? If so, suggest your group could use a few seasoned urban forest experts to guide volunteers on what type of pruning & watering stewardship immediately required. Just don't refill trickle bags, water along rootball perimeter to encourage outbound root growth. Luck to you all!!

I was reliably informed that Amey plc had won an SYP contract, as a result Amey plc are now the only contractor taking full responsibility for the polishing of all 'SYP's' turds, in particular the ones collected by South Yorkshire Police over the years, the 'trophy' turds, which will just require a little maintenance in the form of a tickle with the 'French Polish'. Because you know, 'FP' is the dogz bollocks when shit need to be super shiny as fuck, and rest assured, never in a lifetime will there be any shit, shinier than the shit, lovingly polished by team Amey plc on behalf of SYP.

I am a Tree Officer for a local authority, what the f#!k, signed a contract to sort the roads which has resulted in tree loss, which could be avoided and now they carn't back out. I was of the initial understanding that trees were being removed because of condition, the more I look into this it appears to be an error of judgement from Councillors and upper management who know naff all about trees. Can believe it as landscaping elements and there maintenance are first to be cut and not considered. All this conspiracy bullsh#$ regarding 5G needs to stop to. Trust me I am in the industry, what a load of bollocks, if 5G does not pass through wet leaves it would offer no improvement and would require more than these trees to be felled, most if not all trees would have to be removed if the effects to so called 5G were true. I could go on forever on the subject of trees governed by local authorities and politics, there is a general need for investment in correct tree management in urban areas, which unfortunatley has been lacking, especially of late. There are massive problems to future tree cover preservation and saftey to the public, management needs to be left to those with an impartial view and who care deeply for the trees in an area they and there team have managed for decades. Sadly employing private companies leads to crap shown in the video, and the local tree officer is a dying breed not easily replaced.

Gaz, new standard utilizes "Beam forming" antenna technology. Along with utilization of many low watt cell sites. But yes you are correct. Higher Gigahertz band frequency relies even more on line of sight signal. Which is much easier to be blocked by walls, even one's hand. Does not sound very people friendly huh? And as far as old trees causing new problems. Since new digital street lights are defined as spot lights, rather than floods like before. Towns will be required to keep branches harshly cut back. Plus, with more restrictions implemented by ADA handicapped. In future, expect trees can no longer be planted. If potential of causing slightest tripping issues. In a way, besides under power lines. Parkways probably next worst site to plant trees. Since so many utilities run underneith.

Power companies upgrading metering equipment alongside everyone's house, already contains a wireless broadband network. It's funny though, how some studies show crime rates lower in communities with a lot of trees. On other hand, crime ridden communities already removing trees after blamed on blocking street lights. One thing can tell you as an Arborist. Today everyone is used to new trees growing into big & low multi trunk bushes. Compared to when one checks out older trees over age 60. Which produce one main trunk and higher up crown, like nice skyrocket shooting straight into sky and exploding high. This is because, scientifically new trees require specialized structural pruning over first 15 years. To make sure they grow one main trunk, which nurseries do before selling tree.

maybe, lol, i'm not really sure what i'm saying. I just feel sorry for trees that are on their own surrounded by concrete, it's not their natural environmet. They seem fine, they grow and flower and look healthy and are nice to look at, but part of me thinks it's not supposed to be there. We create pollution, and we say "i's okay we'll just plant a load of trees to clean the air for us". doesn't the fact that the roots are trying to break free from the concrete tell you something? i hope these trees remain, but i hope they destroy the roads too.

What a complete load of cobblers. As pointed out, they have not applied ANY engineering solutions anywhere. So how does he expect us to believe that those solution HAD been considered for this or any other tree when the evidence suggests they are never used? The business of never spending so much time on a small number of people before, or that majority of people "do not care" completely misses the point of course. Its not about the number of people objecting, its about the number of people the action will impact over the long-term, regardless of if those people realise it today or not.
