I am Transporter828.
I started driving tractor/trailer trucks in 1984 as a flatbed steel hauler for Bethlehem Steel, in the Philadelphia area. By 1986, I had become a 48 state, transcontinental Driver and [true] Owner Operator.
I learned from a Owner Operator on a conventional [butterfly hood] - 18speed - manual steering, [model 351] Peterbilt with a truly "turned-up" 8V92 Detroit Diesel engine.
My channel is all about being a Professional Driver. Here, the focus is on the Trucking and Transporter Lifestyle.
Since 1984 I have also learned that earning your Commercial Driver License is only the beginning of becoming a true Professional Driver.

@@906EUP I appreciate that. I truly wish that I could show others on this channel how I actually do some of these things. Be safe out there! 👍🏾🚛😎
Thank you for sharing this. I learned something new today from watching this video. Very informative. Thank you and keep posting great content!
@@thedrunkenmaster1787 Absolutely 💯 and Thank you for being a subscriber and leaving your comments! It is my desire to help others. Be safe! 😎👍🏾🚛
That was some damn good driving. I could imagine all the damage trailer door that have come out of there.
@@damonlankford9154 👋🏾 Thank you andI appreciate the compliment! Just putting info out there to help our community.
I hate those things. I caught hell backing into a spot like that at a Coca Cola plant in G.A took me about 15 Mins but I got it in there.
@@thedrunkenmaster1787 👋🏾 Yeah, I remember the first time I saw those things. It was pretty crazy. 😆 🚛 Be safe and enjoy your drive!
Keep dropping knowledge im listening and learning thanks OG
Thank you for explaining how the 18-wheeler works I just paid for my CDL I'm trying to get my clp right now

Heres a comment for the algorithm. Not sure if its still the case , but youtube likes videos that are over 10 mins. It might help get you more views
@@grimmtruth I appreciate your help on my view count, thank you!
Currently in school for my CDL. Really like your video style. Keep it up.
Hi@@grimmtruth 👋🏾 Congratulations on being in driving school, you have taken that big step! I am glad you are gaining additional knowledge from content here on my channel. Thank you for liking, sharing and subscribing!
Prepare ahead. Use Jake's and trailer brake. Its not magic.
classic jackknife, I live and truck out of SLC. As someone who has driven trucks in snow sense I was a kid, it is the classic mistake truckers make. All the weight on the drives. Also, fresh snow has more traction than slush.
I really like this channel you are the cerebral truck driver.
@@passionforguns I appreciate your comments and kind words. And after all... our ability to "pause and reason" before reacting is one of the main things that sets humans apart from animals. Thank you for, liking - subscribing and sharing! 😎🚛👍🏾

Haven’t heard no other trucker speak in this specifically….. thanks OG
@@hooksettatv7588 No problem, you're welcome. This is why I created this channel; to talk about those things that others simply do not talk about. There are many things I speak on that others do not cover. One possible reason might be because I am actually an accredited Teacher.

Hello and thank you Gregory Burks, your comments are both kind and encouraging. I think about my viewers, followers, new Drivers and subscribers quite often. It is my desire to shine some light into those [otherwise] dark corners for others. 👍🏾😎🚛
I’ve seen people slam to a stop to break check a truck. 4 wheeler did it to me twice when I had a loaded box truck. No damage, but he was trying to cause accidents for sure. Be careful out there. People be crazier.
Very good and vital information for young drivers traversing mountain ranges. Especially coming thru Wyoming, Utah, Oregon as well as the Sierra Nevada regions. Weather changes road conditions with no warning until your in trouble. Always downshift when driving downhill, instead of using that Jake brake..or you WILL be looking for an escape ramp. Be smart, be proactive and never rush. Your life is more important than that load.
You never downshift when going downhill. You downshift before going downhill.
Thank you! I'm 56 and about to start my journey ... I find your info helpful! Safe travels!

Respect the road have good tires properly inflated keep your distance and your speed be in lower gear on hills down especially
Sir, I did. Right out of CDL school into flatbed for a Chicago Ukrainian company. Company driver. First year $98,000. That was 3 1/2 years ago. I still don’t know 1/10 of 1/10 about trucking. I’m humble though.
thank you sir

168 hrz a week fo 1000$ iz it really worth it .
Thank you for replying and subscribing! Unfortunately, it's a little hard to answer your question 😕 There are only 168 hours within seven days, which would mean a person would have to work continously without sleeping. What are your real concerns?
I like your headset

I just don't take time off i opt to work on holidays weekends whatever if there's something to be hauled i tell my dispatcher to put me on it 😊

OG! Man this needed to be said! Too many brothers do all this imagining and talking for years but don’t have their CDL yet. I’m telling them how you’re going to buy this big house and investment properties you’re talking about, making all this money, but yet have not been thru the anxiety and behind the wheel like us truckers 🤔 It’s a crawl, walk, and run phase like a baby
