Preta-deere snowblower drive pulley system
Переглядів 67Рік тому
This video shows the drive pulleys for the blower and traction drives. I forgot to mention I added 1.5" to the end of the traction housing (where the blower mounts) to make room for the double pulleys. Please comment below if you have any more questions. Thank you for your interest!

Eliminating rotational quill slop on Rong Fu 31
Переглядів 1,6 тис.3 роки тому
I am in the process of installing a DRO on my 'green monster'. Even though this mill had very few hours on it, the quill rotated back and forth excessively. Here us how I fixed it.
The Dipstick Machine

This machine was invented and built to help a local entrepreneur build a product to help train athletes to properly swing a bat or golf club. This machine was built from a garage door opener and some bicycle parts. The electrical components were sourced from Amazon.
Modified John Deere 726-- The Pretadeere
Переглядів 1,7 тис.4 роки тому
Showing mods I made to an old 726, with an eye toward reliability and performance. I forgot to mention I inceased the discharge chute length 4" and reduced the chute angle in order to be able to throw snow farther. A 13 hp Predator engine replaced the stock 7 hp Tecumseh. The blower drive pulley was oversized which increased the blower and auger speed almost 20%. A double groove pulley system w...

Spincycle in action
Переглядів 1913 років тому
Spincycle in action. This is the first one I have built, using an old 20" AMF bicycle for the donor pieces. I intend to build a smaller version (12" or 16") so smaller kids can ride. Sorry for the poor video quality.

Nice work. I have a similar JD 1032 on which I would like to fit an electric motor to rotate the chute similar to yours. Could post something showing the bracket you made to fix the small motor and rod attachment. Since I do not have a welding machine I am considering my options.

Right now I still have the machine in storage, but I will get it out in the next week or so. I will get you some pictures then.

@@drive42 tank you, that is exactly what I needed. I will try to hook it to the auger while preserving the original assembly. In case I need to go back to manual operation.

Great video, thanks. Love the z axis approach, that will be the way I'll go. Do you have pictures showing how the reader is attached to the dill bar. Thanks again.

Excellent idea! Much easier to understand than the way Steve did it. Can I ask what dro you ended up picking up? I just purchased my first mill drill and not sure how to measure for one. I might ask Steve over in his video too. Thanks for the video!

I bought mine on Amazon. As far as measuring for the scales, you need a scale that reads a little longer than the actual axis movement, say an inch or two.

Looks great! Gives me some idea of what I might run into installing a DRO on my Enco mill. Could you please create a video of cutting a cope in the square tubing? Thank you!

Very nice! Looks like you were very thorough. Grease fittings and extra work all over the machine! That snowblower should be good for the next few generations. Two thumbs up from me!!

I have a 1032 John Deere and am totally impressed with your modifications! Thanks for sharing as I may add the grease fittings as you so as to make those bushings last longer.

I have been keeping an eye out for a 1032, and one will come up someday. We recently got 6-8" of snow, and the 728 will throw it easily 30'. The 13hp Predator seems to make good power.

That’s a great idea on getting rid of the rotational sloppiness in the quill on these 👍👍…I’ll have to use your idea on my Green mill as well as it has a ton of slop from my guide pin being much smaller that the groove as well. Thanks for the tip man !
