This unit is very bad if you want to control 8HP gearboxes. If you want something proper, go for TurboLamik TCU. In Poland (both controlers are made there) people are throwing away GCU for TCU in 8HP configuration.

HTG and DOMIWORKS are wonderful people, i have a 2007 335i with a pure drivetrain solutions built 8hp75 and HTG did the wiring in house, the adapter took a while to be made, literally the second it was in domiworks hands, he sent it to me rush delivery. htg loves to see their products in action and the cars that they are in! True car guys who love what they do. im awd 8hp75 swapping my e60 next with an 8.4l gen 5 viper engine. between maxxecu and htg its so painless. Keep in mind htg is in poland and A LOT of their cars are in europe. the adapters for the transmissions barely made it into shipping 3 days ago ....... my car has 11:1 high comp runs on alcohol and nitrous, 5k rpm stall, trans brake the whole setup and the only problem i had was not being able to tune the transmission myself, luckily HTG does that and they do it well.

@@Mp-jw1qg I only have heard some positivity with the 8HP trans, which I know many people tune. Its the DKG boxes F80 etc model that I hear all the negativity from. Mostly from guys trying to make them reliable race transmissions but just constantly running in SW problems and such. You must have an instagram account or be associated with someone so I can check out your builds and discuss this a bit further. I'm trying to do a DKG swap in my E39 M5, already have a M4 gearbox and prop shaft... just was waiting for Maxxxtune to release their SW.

But it will be quite difficult, because different transmissions require different boards

I think it allows you to map or take control of your own gearbox?

@@icurus222 but that’s what XHP gearbox flash tool is for or a Alpine gearbox flash, I’m still confused as too what this mod actually achieves?

@@mnl493x it allows the use of a standalone gearbox controller. He has cut out the stock TCU

if you have to ask what the purpose of this modification is, and you already own a 8HP, its probably because your car came with it! 🤣 this is for people who want to use a standalone transmission controller, usually for swaps into vehicles that never came with this style of transmission

Watch his 8HP90 video. He uses Megapoxy. I've been looking for something to use for some time. Finally have an answer.

Oh, and silicone coated wire is what I've read. But, I'd imagine PTFE would work well, also. If you think about it, though. It's encapsulated so it's probably not critical.

@@jeremiedaniels813 M22759/32 tinned copper tefzel wire is what I would use, and probably will use when I do 2JZ+8HP70 to GRS182 Crown Athlete. :)

Did you find out if its the same as the 8hp45 or different?
