Halloween props and tips for home haunters. I have been doing a display since 2013 and will be sharing props I made, tips and observations that might help other who want to make do it yourself displays.

I prefer the old twitching Banshee from Spirit Halloween
Dude threw his wife waaaaay under the bus hahahaha. Crazy work seeing as she is most likely the one filming haha
I love your Halloween decorations!! Very nice
Thank you.
Very nice. I appreciate the time folks decorate for Halloween
Thank you!
Excellent visuals 👏
Thank you, almost there.
Impressive level of detail in your video instruction. I listened to it at 1.5 speed so it wasn't so long. You could also try using a voice-over technique for clearer talking sound and let the video speed increase for shorter video time. Great job on the instruction!
Where did you purchase the drop cloth that looks like brick or a dungeons wall?
I got the canvas from Home Depot in 2019. I glued brick scene setters to the canvas to make the walls the way they are now.
@@internettroll7604 thanks for your quick response and info.
Do you have any trouve with the monster mud scratching off the shiny bucket surface?
I made a bunch of them last year and had 6 out with statues for about 12 months now. Through winter snow and a hot summer. I had to touch up two of them the other week. One I had hit with a weedwacker while trimming the lawn, and another that I had walked into and knocked over/fell on. 🙄 Other than that they held up well. I made a bunch the a week or so ago and touch up those two when I made up a batch of the monster mud for the new ones.
Great video. Thanks for sharing!
Outstanding
Thank you
Good job. You can also get a TEXTURED PAINT or out sand in your paint to give it an actual masonry look and feel. 😊
Love the shout-out to @vanoaksprops love a creator who shares and supports the community. Subbing!
I would not have the haunt I do without so many others creating videos and sharing their ideas over the years and they deserve credit for what they have done and the influence they have had on me. Vanoaksprops, Stiltbeast, Diablo, PumpkinRot and so many others. It’s part of what makes the community so good.
@@internettroll7604 That attitude is what makes me fall in love with haunting and haunters all over again. Thanks for existing!! 🥰
Oooo I’ve got a stupid hula hoop I keep tripping on in the garage that’s about to get a moon shower curtain and slapped up on my deck wall. Love the multi lighting so it can stay up all year too! 💕
Where do you get your statues?
I got all the statues in the picture except the center one from Home Depot of the last 8 or so years. I was disappointed they did not have any this year. The gargoyle in the center was from At Home last year. They don’t have that one this year, but they have a different one that is very nice for $119.
Awesome Job, where did you get all your Gargoyles?
Thanks, I got all of them but the center one at Home Depot during their Halloween season over the years. The center one is from At Home last year. At Home has a different and in my opinion better one this year. Home Depot has a pretty cool gargoyle and base for $99 this year.
Thank you. This is perfect for what I needed. About how much weight will these hold? I have some 1/2 inch granite top I was thinking of cutting to use on the top? Thoughts?
I think they will hold it without any trouble. The HD buckets are pretty well built. The heaviest gargoyle I use on the pedestals has 25 pounds or so of concrete in it and the pedestal holds it just fine.
Thank you for all the details.
I hope it works out well for you if you do it.
Cool project, Well done.
Thank you!
fantastic idea! This will be very useful when I do a space/alien theme
Everyone loves a gratuitous Beaver shot ! (Loaded Weapon reference)
This is an old video and there are many new skeletons out there. As of 2023 I think the Home Depot Ultra Posable Skeletons are by far the best I have seen and a great base for creating other props.
Your zombie scarecrow is especially cool!
Thank you, that was one of the earlier props I made around 2015
to make my skeletons stand, i use 5 ft rebar. drive it in the ground about 18" (call 811 so you don't hit a gas line). ziptie skeleton on above the knee and to the spine at the ribcage.
lookin pretty good nice Job HFL!!
Thanks, it’s going to be a fun theme Halloween night.
Promo_SM 🤷
And the Knees are Fused in Place. gotta get the guy a Pair of Braces for his Legs, Forrest Gump Style.
Great way and best I have seen. Thanks.
I always tape up the ends of my pvc when foam them into a tombstone or etc.. Works out great to keep foam out of the pvc.
Thanks, good tip.
Nice idea using the buckets to do this project.
Thanks, lots of 5 gallon buckets that will work well. A buddy of mine has a bunch that held chlorine tablets for his pool that he is giving me next week.
Awesome, thank you for the post...I'll be doing that this year!! Very nice!!!
Nice work. Please train your camera person - that was painful to watch while the camera is bouncing around the whole time
Easy just put a 4ft rebar in ground and tied with cable ties simples
Why is she not blinking?
Thank you for pointing that out. We are taking her back and returning it or getting a new one. Between that and part of her staff not working I have no confidence in this unit. The company mailed out a new staff piece but the I am done messing with this one.
Where did you buy it? How much, I would like to purchase 2 of them
Home Depot carries it. He is currently sold out on line but it is possible it will come back in stock. Also check your local Home Depot store when they put out Halloween.
It could get suffocated so keep an eye out
I threw the bag out soon after the video so all is good. 😃
helpful... dick
Good breakdown. I do believe the one on the end by the Home Depot one is from Spirit Halloween. Toes are important too. Some of them have feet with all of the toes molded as one piece. Gotta have those individual toesies!
Can I have your skeleton.🦎🐉🐈
Thanks, cool idea. Consider adding some reinforcing, tape will eventually give out.
No problem. Hope you can make good use of it.
Thanks Troll 💀very helpful💯
good idea thank you
Not loud enough
Thanks! Super helpful!
Excellent!
Great video except for the loud background noise
Cool 😎 skeleton's
Thank you!
The neighbours being like "honey it's that man again he's putting more corpses in the trees"
What thickness rebar did you use and how long?
1/2 inch rebar. You can make do with shorter rebar but I normally use 8 to 10 inches in the leg and about 6 to 8 in the ground.
what was the name of the place that you learned how to do plastic corpsing ? i couldnt make out the name of the studio on the video. Can u send me the name of that studio ? You also mentioned that you have a video of doing plastic corpsing. can u send me the link for that video. Thanks alot
Search for stiltbeast studios plastic corpsing. Well worth the 20 minutes. My video is here. ua-cam.com/video/e92Q4X1dPt4/v-deo.html
thank you so much! I hope I can pull this off with my eight foot skeleton!
Hi, with an 8 foot skeleton the leg bones are going to be larger and there will be a lot more slop/movement in the leg that might make it hard to do with 1/2 inch rebar. I would consider using zip ties to attach 3/4 in pvc to the back of the legs and running the rebar through there so that you don’t get that slop. I have a link to pictures of what I am talking about. I did it for a mannequin. You could attach the pvc to the leg bones the same way. www.halloweenforum.com/threads/finally-got-off-my-lazy-butt-and-started-making-new-props.148097/post-2636019 I would also reinforce all the connections between joints as much as you can. An 8 foot skeleton is going to have more weight and want to bend a lot more. It might even be worth running a longer pieced of pvc up both the back parts of the the legs to get the extra stability. Good luck, I would love to know if it works or not.
@@internettroll7604 Thank you so much!! Halloween is my favorite time of year and I always go all out! I wish I could get the 12 foot skeleton but he's always sold out. Thanks again for your help
