Spiders can't climb vertical surfaces, also you need more power to run large refinery, build 2 more turbines on other corners...
That’s new then. I saw them climb while I was on Pertam. You can run a large refinery off 2 well placed turbines it just won’t be as efficient as possible. But yeah I already prepared the space for another.
That's why I have yet to make the Alien planet my home. I like using the eat sleep drink and repeat mod in my worlds. MES somewhat keeps the spawn rate down...but they still spawn when least expected. That being said I do get a kick out watching other people run and scream when they show up 🤣🤣🤣

Good build but lots of power consumption, you were running at almost 100% capacity.
Thank you. Of course. The shield generators will use any available power to boost hp. Without them it’s quite moderate for the size.

All them spiders coming out of the ground terrifying! I loved watching all the tremors movies growing up,it does remind me of the movie. Maybe model your base like a oil rig platform that they have in the ocean.

im hoping that the next update we might get is about getting Prototech Weapons, turrets and maybe even new type of a reactor that uses a new kind of power source
Reactor would be cool. There is a new turret and missile launcher but I chose not to cover those this video since it’s hard to quantify what they do better without setting up an elaborate range. Others have done this already.
I tried fighting a Factorum warship and they are tough!

Andrewmangaming showed the different battery capacities on his DLC showcase. I really like how the large grid battery focuses on MOAR KWh, while the small grid battery gives you better energy density per unit block, but with less discharge rate than the small grid large battery. Plays into the use cases for each of small grid and large grid. And the concepts from Splitsie's Assertive and scrapyard mods (the NPC thruster components and physically manipulating blocks) are cool to be included in the vanilla game. I've recently heard that Taleworlds has not engaged well with their modding community on Bannerlord, and consequently the game's modding has dropped precipitously. Space Engineers and Rimworld continue to be receptive to their communities and actively engage and support the modding, and both seem to be flourishing. Same for Arma 3/Reforger, though I haven't played in years. The community can really make or break some small/mid sized indie games. B/c Star Citizen doesn't look to use any of this community content model, I wonder about its longevity. CIG look like they're trying to generate years' worth of ongoing new content all in-house -- a centralized, paid model instead of a crowdsourced free/voluntary payment/donation/commission model.

This is true, although you could say since Star Citizen is a public alpha they are taking a lot of cues from the public - integrating XGR race tracks for example. And I expect after 1.0 release the development won’t stop.

i have a problem with the RED fighter on top of the red ship in the map red ship V2 and the problem is it isn't moving as the thrusters have no fire effect on them and i am on ps5
That might be a bug. Double check that everything is on, fuelled and nothing broken, and if you still get no thrust a game restart might be needed. For your other question, There are no planets in this scenario. It was created just to show off the new blocks. Remote controls are just a single 1x1x1 block so you can place it anywhere you want but make sure it faces forwards. We have a discord channel where other players may be able to help with any other questions. Details are on our latest videos and in the channel description.

i've had that thruster issue before that you had with the ions, it seems any amount of thrust is enough to slow you down or speed you up once moving but there is a minimum thrust required to start moving from a full stop. i found moving my mouse slightly as i thrust got around this issue mostly

Thank you. Bad news though…. There’s no Mg on the alien planet in this series. Its moon, Titan, does have Mg though.
Great episode, that was creepy how the spiders came out of the ground, the alien planet is gonna be a hard place to survive, gonna be interesting to see what kind of base you build.
Thank you ElCid - Spiders are the absolute worst. And without a jetpack it’s going to be a big challenge. Pertam had a few but Alien Planet is their home.

Yeah it’s not happening. I expected more recharge time while I was at the last planet but I got done too soon. I have ideas to solve the issue. 2 large grid panels though.

No rush. :)
There is an old bug with small grids near large ones when thrusters stop responding. U need to rotate a little bit using thrust to unfreeze it. Also maybe try making a group of backward thrusters and turn them off when traveling, U wont need to use dampeners on/off so often (valid strategy), keeping the ship on course.
Thanks. Yes I've used that strategy before but I keep forgetting to turn them back on again - pressing Z is easier, plus I'm used to flying without dampeners most of the time. My personal issue lol. Gyro was actually ok - it was just my ion thrusters that weren't providing any thrust at all until I restarted the game. Weird bug but a different one to the old gyro issue. I've occasionally had success adding a spin rotor to SG ships as a work around. just sometimes though :\
I'm asking this is because on default setting it start wiggle like crazy when aiming at sun at every motion
It's not using a turret controller. I used Isy's Solar Alignment Script - that sets up all the rotors automatically and actively tracks where the power is best. No wobble at all.

Sucks when the recording messes up,great episode again, I love how realistic hardcore survival seems,just a small mishap can have big consequences. Can't wait for next episode.
Thanks ElCid. It sure does - I think I tracked down the problem and fixed it - had to move my audio interface off the hub to a direct connection and tweak some bios settings. Hopefully it holds, but so far so good. Hardcore is the best way to play if you've got a lot of hours in the game. Anything else is far too easy.

I truly love Speed's new suit audio duck upgrade. Auto Blur on the clipcam, not so much.
Clip cam was a one off novelty. Took quite a bit of work to simulate crappy autofocus / zoom enabled helmet cams. Lol 😂
Ships that Speed has not crashed on the first mission thus far as far as I can recall is ... One. What's truly remarkable is that was the first run of the carrier rocket to the Asteroid station, and he docked it perfectly without dampeners on. Of course, he didn't actually figure out dampeners until around episode 42. Nevertheless, it was quite impressive, if as equally alarmingly unanticipated. Of course, it never got used again after that episode, but that is beside the point entirely.
Purpose built for one job. But I’m very glad he didn’t wreck it before the job was done!
More stats would be good, like number of times Speed doesn't recklessly crash immediately on any given task with a brand new ship he's never even flown once. The guy is worse than Pippin.

It's a social commentary that it's natural to build a huge rotating tower with a sweeping view of the landscape for miles, on a barren world, then put a theater in it to look at a giant screen of clips of our clones dying.

You could add a block on each area the landing gear could connect to to add space from the thrusters.
I could, but with 3rd person view disabled it would be quite difficult to line up.
@@Psy-Prime you could add a bottom camera bud. I use them to dock and such. I try not to use 3rd person. I am only two months old in SE. I am on a friends server I met last week. It is called INTENSE Summer camp. You have to grind down blocks to move forward in the progression table or find blueprints and so many more things. Realistic atmospheric on planets with atmos, sleep, drink and eat. It is really a challenge. Ya have to make different ammo components to make ammo, and components to make components to make certain blocks, a whole bunch of different ores and oil. I never seen this stuff before, so it is fun trying to learn the game and all of this other stuff as well. The base game is cool, but like, just mine magnesium and wham ya have ammo is unrealistic to me. I want more emersion. You have to make brass, primer caps, flash powder and so on to make ammo. The more you move around, the more NPC poi’s and npc drones and ships show up. Keep your beacon and antenna signals low or they will you and attack and such. You are more than welcome to come try it. The day and night cycles are decently long and such. Storpoppa is his name and channel too. He posts streams of him building his base and such. He says there is no free lunch on the server as you have to work at everything. It is fun. He and I are both disabled veterans, he Navy and I Army. Experienced players kept saying they wanted a challenge and such, but they will stay less that thirty minutes and leave. I have seen it. It is funny. Iv been waiting for this episode, i love sci-fi and using a separate craft to use FTL or jump drives,could you use a piston on the jump drive cockpit with a gridlock that's extended, that you attach to then you could turn off your thrusters and pull yourself in right in front of the jump drive cockpit? Loved the episode.
Glad you liked it. Erm, yes I guess a docking piston is possible, although we may end up with instability when we have 2 heavy grids connected like that. Some redesign might be a better option, though we would need to do that back on the ground, or with a construction ship.

You've proved me wrong, I never thought you'd get out of atmos without more Hydro thrusters and large hydro tanks. But you have the core of a very large star cruiser as long as you park that jump drive module at the edge of PG while shuttling materials back and forth. I think I'd have gone for Ur first for nuclear power.
We certainly have something! I was expecting a complete failure to escape gravity too, but I guess I built the Falcon too well! I really need to go for cobalt first as without that I doubt we’re building a reactor or uranium staging post. Uranium is going to be super deep down.

@@Psy-Prime kinda , maybe lasers antennas distance to control the remote , hmm 🤔 , glad the remote worked on pc I know their are a few differences in block pcu , aka Xbox normal blocks cost 2 pcu and pc cost 1 pcu , thanks for confirming the remote works the same had me wondering all week lol
@@Psy-PrimeI think they are good ideas 😱😇😈. You could setup up a precise circular defensive minefield bubble around your base. Just gps mark the point to jump from then set the jump, say 1k from it, jump to it, drop the mine (a medium cargo container with 4 Gatling guns (or weapons of your choice) on it, with ammo in the container, an AI combat block and gyro, so it can turn, face the enemy and lock guns on target) and jump back to the origin point. Rinse and repeat for how many mines ya want to cover your area of denial. If an npc or enemy player comes close enough, they get lit up by the mine or mines before they even get in range of your base. What do you think of that idea? Think it will work or did I leave something out? Let me know. 😇🫡🫡🫡

Okay sir psi awesome content, on the ai front I think the ai would be a good thing for a big ship kinda like when on the enterprise -D they would say computer and it would respond, or like in 2001 a space odyssey, but not as a personal assistant, just my thoughts though . Be awesome have a great rest of your weekend, side note on Xbox you can remote into a ship with a remote control and take control of it through the remote and use jump drives or just connect up with a connector and don’t forget to place the jump commands on your hot bar when connected by connector and a remote control has its on hot bar when your controlling it so you will need to play the jump commands their if you use that method, trying to be helpful
Thanks Keeper! Yes that seems to be the general feeling about the ai and I’m listening. I’m not sure if you remote trigger a jump drive on pc- used to be impossible but I’m going to give it a try!
Just make sure your controlling the jump grid through the remote control block not a timer block or event block those won’t work , it should be fine Psy , your drill rig is more complex and I still can’t do those right dang sensor won’t work right lol, good luck oh yeah make sure to put a camera on the front were the remote is facing for blind jump , hope it help I’m done now
