These subtitles you're using look like they are "dubtitles" where the English dub's script is used instead of an actual translation from the Japanese. The dub for Grappler Baki had some character name changes (though not until later episodes) and occasional mistranslations, plus a handful of moments where dialogue was completely rewritten, but none of the dub's changes affect the plot or themes of the story too much, and most of the big changes are in grappler baki's second season, which doesn't seem to have the dubtitles problem, so it shouldn't be that much of an issue.

Baki and YuYu Hakusho at the same time? This is going to be interesting.

Not sure why you keep referring to Iketani as Takumi's manager. He's one of Takumi's friends and coworkers who has probably been working there longer than Takumi, but is not his superior. Takumi's boss, the friend of his father, is the only boss there.

Yusuke thought Keiko wouldn't be bothered about losing a pervert. Keiko's tears show she lost her childhood friend. Yusuke thought Kuwabara lost a guy who beats him up for fun. He learned Kuwabara lost a goal. Yusuke thought Takenaka lost a bothersome boy who causes nothing but trouble. He learned Takenaka lost a student with so much potential. Yusuke thought his mom lost a mouth to feed. He learned that she lost her son. Man, the wake scene hits so hard in the anime dub, even harder than the manga does.

12:36 I will try posting fun facts without spoilers. One of the things they changed about the anime from the Manga are any mentions of Mike Tyson. During the conversation between ippo and Takamura, Takamura tells ippo about Tyson growing from being bullied to champion. He also gives him tapes of Mike Tyson to show him that. Unfortunately, the anime was made when mike was facing his "troubles" so i assume they cut him out as an "inspiring" figure because they keep all the other boxers referenced in the manga.

The Ippo fanbase wont get you thousands of views like other top shonnen but the fanbase will always stay consistently loyal even if you move beyond the anime and start doing manga stuff. Welcome to gym
