Dale, I walked away from NASCAR Racing with Winston after the 2003 season. At that time, we Racers had conversations very similar to what you are having now; and they weren't pretty. Someone said this past week to me that the old Latford point system racing was boring; back then we talked about that also. The reason NASCAR dropped the Latford point system was because NASCAR could not stand having their Champion win the Cup before the final race of the season. Although, this happens everywhere in Automobile Racing up to this point, but NASCAR had to change that. That is something that can only happen in a true "Sport." Here is the Rub Dale: Prior to Winston and the Latford point system NASCAR was not ready for Prime Time, nor was it national outside of its own mind. It was the point system that brought all the big name racers to the track every race for the entire season. It is what made NASCAR what it was at that time - a true American Sport. Prior to that, NASCAR was actually seen as boring by most because it was, by lack of driver participation. Back in 2003 I decided that NASCAR did want to be like other Stick and Ball sports. The problem is Racing is not a game like the others; that is a divide that can not be crossed. Playing Games in race cars is not a sport, it is just plain silly games in race cars. So, I will leave you with this: think of racing like boxing; the Champ is supposed to KO his opponent in 3 rounds of a 12 round bought... Racing is not a Game, it is a Sport! What would Stages look like in Boxing? Maybe NASCAR can buy that Gig too and Fuck it up. And, the dumb-shit is just going to get more dumb; you can't fix stupid. Ya' All are late comers to the conversation. I am here because I told you all so, a long time ago; now you know why are you here. And You are not seeing Racing anymore, and you can not see the forest from the trees either...

Been a fan since 98. I find it bc amazing to kids talk about how they never seen the bud number 8 car run. I feel blessed to have been there from the start. Now my 8 year old kids understand why I have so many diecast cars and different bud 8 things.

I'm 2 years older than Jr I've been in Racing my whole life cause my dad an one of his brothers raced in the early 80's. But I also have connections in NASCAR. It's about time Bud an Dale Jr gets back together cause it was a perfect match!!!

I grew up in the 88 car era of Jr's career (2010-17) but it just feels so right to have the actual 8 car back...even if it's a late model car. I'd love to see it on a Busch (or dare I say Cup) car as a throwback, soon.

I cannot understand why they are racing Trans-am cars in NASCAR which now stands for National Association "SPORT" Car Automobile Racing. I only turn to the channel to see how many Fans Are NOT In The Stands. I like how they paint the seat all different colors so you can't tell how many people are (NOT) there. I heard them say that this is the car that the manufactures want. Why? You can't buy this car on the Lot either. I was recently at Road Atlanta for one of the Vintage road races and I talked to a guy who was with a team running these new cars. They had 2 cars and they cost $450,000.00 each. That does not include the engine. They closed up shop and got $400,000.00 each. What a Joke. How many people lost their job over this car???

And another thing, I don't give a damn what Kyle Larson says. He can complain about the fans all he wants but we the fans were the ones who had to suffer through that abomination of a Bristol race. As a NASCAR fan of over 20 years, I know what a good race is whether Kyle Larson thinks it is or not, and Bristol was complete garbage.

Pretty sure Talladega this weekend will be the same garbage we saw in the spring where the entire field saved fuel the whole race and nobody tried to make any passes whatsoever. In my opinion, NASCAR had the perfect Daytona and Talladega package figured out from 2019 to 2021. Those races with that particular package were absolutely amazing. Ever since 2022 with this new car, Daytona and Talladega have been complete garbage.
