A wonderful overview of the history of Gore. Gore will always hold a special place in my ski jacket. I have fond memories of advancing my ski skills here. There's so much to love- the variety of the terrain, the coziness of the cabins, the beauty of the Adirondacks. I just can't wait for upcoming season!

As a ski instructor for over 35 years, we always taught this code to students!!! As a retired “oldman” skier now it is my observation and experience that there are MANY riders/skiers on any given day that can not avoid or stop if another person where in their path, they don’t have the skills to make a high speed turn or stop, they are hanging on for the hill to level out and slow them down. God save you if you are below them and turn unknowingly into their path. Most of the intermediates that blast past me are clearly in survival mode and I hope they don’t get hurt or run into my friend who is rehabbing a knee replacement and can’t take off anymore time from work. No amount of lecturing or scolding can solve the case of the out of control skier, it is the nature of adrenaline gravity sports to break bones and snap necks. Thank all the ski patrollers as out numbered as you are for being there when the mountain wins, when the ice teaches another lesson, and someone decides that maybe they need a ski lesson.
