There are bitless... So bridles don't always have something in the horses mouth. But looking at a halter what i notice different is no brow band and no reins

Great Video! May I add a tip? Apparently they are doing Mustang sales/adoptions locally now. (The South in general, Raleigh specifically)…unlike adopting dogs and cats, these horses do need homes, but are absolutely NOT for everyone. Not for most, actually…If you don’t have experience with mustangs, in the best interest of human and horse, you should resist temptation. Only consider if you are VERY experienced with horses, have appropriate facilities, and are skilled in natural horsemanship techniques. I lived for two years on an Arab Farm in Nevada that was adjacent to BLM mustang land. I had the privilege of seeing these horses “in the wild” on an almost daily basis. I also saw the results when they were adopted by well meaning but unqualified individuals. It rarely ends well.

Bought my first trailer a few months ago and while most everything you mentions seems like common sense, I've learned that common sense is not so common. You mentioned a few things that definitely make sense. Question going back to your "trailer organization" video, where did you find your saddle racks? Did they come woth your trailer? Suggestions for future videos… My farrier mentioned meeting a Masterson Method practitioner, giving me an excuse to buy yet another book. After reading just the first part, I got really curious because it just sounded too easy. I started working with the “recommended for beginners” bladder meridian. The theory (you probably know all this) is that you are working with your horse, not “on” your horse, helping them to release tension throughout their body. It gets way more specific and complicated, but just this simple bladder meridian release has had an amazing impact on Juliette. If you haven’t tried it, please do this…buy the book, and read enough to start experimenting with the bladder meridian release. PLEASE RECORD IT! I so wish I had, because it worked with Juliette EXACTLY as the book stated. She indicated places that needed release, and then she would indicate with yawns and chewing that the release was complete. I’d move on. By the time I finished one side, her head was lowered almost to the ground, and her lower lip was totally relaxed. It was bizarre. Now, I’d accepted the fact long ago that Juliette, (like my middle grandchild) just isn’t about nuzzles and pats. But since I’ve started just this basic stuff, she is actually trying to be a little bit affectionate. I swear, this Masterson method stuff is pretty amazing. I’d love to hear your input, and maybe an interview with a practitioner. Love your channel!

I have a neck issue i’m currently working through that tenses up my shoulder/upper back muscles, which leads to my arms being super stiff. Combined with a tendency to pull on the reins (unfortunately how I was originally taught to stop for years), I struggle with following/giving through my arms and hands. The driving rein is a great idea- i'm definitely going to try it out with my boy tomorrow, thank you!

The keeping the reins in is weird. I was always told to wrap it around through the rein buckle so the reins will hang down. Also I hate figure 8ing the nosepiece as it can bend the leather and deform it a bit. I just keep it outside the bit like normal and just slide the nose band through the keepers. I know everyone is going to hate me for this but I always do the throatlatch buckled on the top hole to keep it all snug together.

When I was learning to be a dressage rider I was not allowed to hold the reins for six months, we were never let off the lunge until we learned how to ride and establish a proper seat!

How long you need to keep doing this😮. The Farrier always makes a hole for the abscess to drain through and this obviously needs to be kept covered until such time as it's grown out. So how long with the (poultice and) bandages, to prevent debris and reinfection through the hole in the sole?

Did the horse have horse shoes on ?
