Nah it was trash man. D was a fair grade. A sequel should not digress a character. He should have fully become Joker and killed Arthur and not the other way around
@@cmoney1928 true, I found issues with Arthur’s character arc too but I don’t think this movie was worse than Madame Webb or Morbius though (both of these movies got a higher cinema score)
To be honest even though i didnt like the plot it felt like pure art how the movie unfolded.

Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger's "The Tales of Hoffman" is equally stunning and disturbing. Moira Shearer appears in that film as well.

I personally disagree with your take on the title. In Thai, it is called, “Lahn Ma” which means Grandma’s Grandchild. I think the move to give it the English title that it currently has was genius. It’s eye-catching and makes people want to look more into it. I think if there was a more subtle and lackluster name for an international audience, it wouldn’t have become the viral hit that it is. Most wouldn’t have given it a chance since it’s a Thai film. Also, the title is a red herring, written in a way where most had interpreted the word “millions” to refer to money, not the time, affection, and memories made. I think the “millions” truly referred to all that precious time, love, and connection made between them that is irreplaceable. 10/10 movie for me. I haven’t seen anything this good since Everything Everywhere All At Once

Hello thai person here and I understand why you feel the title gives away too much. The thai title is "หลานม่า" which if i had to translate it as best as possible would just be "the grandmother's grandchild" which makes me wonder how the hell they made that translation

I think the title itself is a representation of what the movie was about, but not in the way you would expect. When you first read the title you would think that M is trying to make his grandma proud before she passes away, but in this case, millions represent her inheritance and the title itself means how to get grandma's inheritance before she dies. Deep.

Excellent series is an understatement
Very good review of the show! The same director (Baran bo Odar), has made another show called 1899 ,i think it's also on Netflix. It gives a similar feeling to the viewer as dark, but has a different concept.

Me personally is season 6 part 1 perfect no but I don’t think it’s as disappointing as people make it out to be. I still think it’s a good season not the best but come on this is part 1 and I guarantee that things will get better when we get part 2 in November. Yeah there’s some stupid stuff in this season but you know why there was also some stupid stuff in the other season’s i’m kind of getting tired of people being disappointed with the season all four it happens some stupid things here and there. I mean, nobody complained about the stupid stuff in season’s Why are you complaining now?

@@2011americanman I think it was so that he could make friends and have an easier at that university when he joins in the future? I am not 100% sure either. Spending too much time with the university storylines was one of my issues with season 6 part 1.
It's the first part, there's two more parts, 10 more episodes to go, what you writing it off so early for?
They ruined characterisation(Hawk and Tory’s change of side to Cobra Kai), brought unnecessary tensions and rivalries between characters(Demetri & Hawk, Miguel & Robby before their fight). Demetri was also just being a jerk towards Hawk for a lame reason. Even the dynamic between Daniel and Johnny has gotten stale. At least Johnny had some character development from the beginning to this point. Daniel was so annoying because he was ego-centric, overly emotional and jumps to conclusions so quickly. And the whole scene with Kreese going into a forest in Korea was just so cartoonish it was hard for me to continue watching. In the previous seasons there was so much more emphasis on the karate side of the story. Here, there is way less Karate and more unnecessary stuff like a grown man having a sleepover with 3 teenage girls or talking about the struggles getting into college. (Having the latter part is fine as it will create some drama to the story but they spent way too much time on it). the top 6 of Miyagi-do is obvious and they spent too much time on choosing them. The way I see it, there was a lot of damage done in these few episodes that could’ve been avoided if they either ended the show in season 5 with some tweaks and changes to story or put in more focus on the Sekai Taikai tournament in this season instead of stretch with so much unnecessary plot at the beginning. However, I am still very excited for part 2 as that is the tournament itself and I hear from people who have seen BTS footage that it will be amazing.

I just feel that season 6 part 1 had way too many problems story wise which was a bit disappointing considering how good the previous seasons were. I felt that with so much problems , if they had ended the show earlier in season 5(after making certain changes to the story) it could’ve stuck the landing instead of dragging it on allowing there to be more problems in the story. Nonetheless, I am still excited for season 6 part 2 to see how the Sekai Taikai tournament goes👍🏾

Yeah I can see a lot of people liking the apology scene, it just didn’t work for me. Maybe because the scenes that followed up to it(the entire sleepover sequence) was just so bad and unnecessary . It probably left such an indelible mark that the next scene (apology btw Tory and Sam) did not work for me.
They fucked up releasing them in parts Imma just wait till the new film comes out next year

Haven’t watched the vid yet but just want to say while I don’t exactly agree I understand why you say this because I get it it’s a show that follows humans and humans are complicated creatures, and it’d be ok if it was only a few times, but the fact that we’re on the final season and they’re still making up silly new reasons why character rivalries should continue even though we all thought they would’ve been resolved for good early on in season 6 and not the season final. Johnny trying to get Tory and Sam to fight I don’t get at all, it feels there for no reason (I haven’t watched the season yet only clips on UA-cam) and Kenny pooing himself like crazy and thinking Anthony is the reason because of it. Again, what was the point of both of those scenes?
However putting that all aside it’s still cobra Kai and it still has all our favorite characters being pretty likeable except for demetri and Sam, and it still had great fight scenes and tension. I still enjoyed my limited watch time so far so that’s why I disagree.
I disagree, I thought it was good, and yes there could have been room for improvement.
These few episodes definitely fumbled hard in certain areas. But yeah, like you said, there is still a lot of fun to be had especially since these characters are all likeable. Just wished they went about handling character developments and dynamics better and put in more focus on the tournament and training rather than other unnecessary stuff like getting into university or college and all that.

@@theKVshow65 yeah and the only reason why I don’t agree that it should’ve ended on season 5 although like I said I understand why is because even though you said they could’ve made some adjustments to make it work as a series final I don’t see how an all out miyagi doe brawl with cobra Kai more fitting than ending it with a season 1 styled biggest tournament in the world but with much higher stakes and more intense fight scenes, way more intense than the brawl in the final episode of season 5. The only reason why I would end it on season 5 is so we wouldn’t have to get hawks silly USA Mohawk

I disagree on "should have ended with S5 with some changes in plot". But S6 should only have focussed on the tournament and be 4-6 episodes short to cover some plot details and wrap up certain elements. To make many sideswitches - again... to have D-san & Johnny dispute - again... Selection of top 6 in Miyagi Do ? Unnecessary as the tops are obvious, yet they managed to ruin it with unrealistic choices (Dimitri & Devon over Hawk??? Come on...) Detail: yeah, sure, nobody ever discovered that secret box hole under that tiny rug... guess that room/floor wasn't cleaned for years... Everything was wrong about this start into Season 6. Also Torry falling for Kreese - with all psychological knowledge - yet, no way. Any development of most characters got ruined within 5 episodes...
Yep, if they hadn’t fumbled so hard in this season by wasting so much time finding top 6 of Miyagi Do, ruin characters like Hawk and Tory’s character development and put in more focus on the tournament rather than spending so much time worrying about college this season would’ve been a better place to end than at season 5

Thambi please do not say "Saloon" as it is wrongly pronounced/spelled in the movie and mispronounced/misspelled by many Indians. It is Sa-LON. Check out the word in google. It is really cringe worthy when they can't even spell it right in India! A Saloon is a place for the sale and consumption of alcoholic drinks. Only in India they cut hair in a saloon!! 😅 Cooling glasses is also a unique India word. Just say sunglasses or shades.
I was also confused about the ‘saloon’ pronunciation in this movie too😅. But because that’s how they pronounced it here, I followed suit. Thanks for your feedback, I will try not to make the same mistake for future reviews.
