Kinda figured running fast and pinging constantly would get the attention of the Silence, but I did not expect it to to show up so soon, nor so unannounced. Homie was just cruising and caught a peak of something weird in his peripheral vision; and it turns out that he was already on the menu and just didn't know it yet. Great stuff, though it did not quite behave as advertised. The noise of the seamoth and pinging only decreased slightly as he entered the area. I was waiting for his heartbeat to become noticeable and well other noises to cease as the leviathan description says, but it didn't happen.

The eyes are cool and scary but the way it just spins on its axis and doesn’t drop threat when you get to the islands (so you can actually explore what you’ve discovered there) is pretty unimmersive.

And that’s what makes it less scary for me. When I played it, no matter what I did it just didn’t stop attacking for a second so I could grab the signal. It was too fast and too aggressive and I get that it’s kinda the whole point but as a player I should still be able to have a second to get out and get the signal. To me it felt just…kind of annoying? But it’s still just a shard and hopefully they’re working on making more and making it better🤷‍♂️

At first, i was terryfied, but then rewatching after seeing everyone say that the SONAR ATTRACTS that thing is a totally different type of suspense, due to the reasoning

I understand the horror they went with, but fundamentally and even in-game, the logic of sonar is true. The fact this leviathan isn't picked up on sonar with the ping is irritating. (Yes, I'm a Subnautica player who isn't that scared of the leviathans.)

Oh hey, the silence! I recall seeing this thing on Deviantart YEARS ago. Cool that it's actually been modded in finally.

Man excellent driving. I just purchased a PS3 and I am currently stuck on this race! I am enjoying all your Motorstorm videos and racing content.

The silence scares me three times as much as the gargantuan. Reason being this. The garg can in no way sneak up on anything. It is too loud and large for that ever to be possible. The silence makes no noise at all, can be nearly invisible, and has nothing to clue you in to how close it is beyond the foreboding pound of your own heart. Even the sonar (which attracts it like a dinner bell) fails to reflect off it's body, whether it's optically visible or not. That implies that it absorbs sound perfectly. And that isn't even to mention it's signature ability. Emiting sound at the exact same amplitudes as the surrounding ambience but with opposite wavelengths, effectively silencing all ambient sound... so the only thing that can make sound in it's presence is other living things. Understanding that, one would be lead to assume it's an apex predator that eats like a king. And yet a scan will tell you it's starving? How can that be!?

How in the hell you didnt get killed in the first instance by the silence? Like, he literally moves by following your sound, and you went all the wsy down with the sonar active, just, HOW?!

God I hate it when my sonar doesn't hit anything. It just instantly hits me with that impending doom because you can't see anything but wide open ocean even with the sonar.

Remember every modded subnautica ytber was like "Guys is REAL idky ppl are saying it's fake". But they show NOTHING but a black screen saying "THERE IT ISSS OMFG " wouldn't call those good times but. Good times.

Thing about sonar in game is that it’s a double edged sword, using it gives you a better look at your surroundings, but same time makes your position more clear to others and makes you a target just begging to be attacked.

Shall we talk about how perfectly this game has been developed? Design, graphics, music effects, different tracks in one, ennemies triggering traps at the right time… I cannot believe how good it is. Developers made it with passion, that’s for sure
