They have people from Central America mostly selling hotdogs on the sidewalk fulltime today near the Chinese theater and across the street which has sort of squeezed out the traditional food trucks. It's easy to spot somebody who is from the military because they look a little healthier and there is more of them walking together. The Navy has some overweight sailors in uniform. It's the same homeless people pretty much on a daily basis but they do thin out after a year, and I see some have moved maybe 1 mile away. Some of them are former military. I saw some marines parachuting while I was driving on interstate 5 thru camp Pendleton recently. I thought they might land on the freeway, but they seemed to land on the ocean side of the 5. Anyway, the food trucks are not so much anymore unless they are scheduled on private property. There seems to be an underground economy with people who just set up shop on the sidewalk. I think they have to buy access for the best-selling positions from whoever runs the sidewalks. They also set up shop in front of vacant stores.

It's hard to ride a bike in the nice areas because those are hills. Anyone nobody else does the downtrodden areas. Driving a car or motorcycle through a nice area is easier stuff. I see people on electric bikes with their I phones doing that. Some go homeless tent to homeless tent.

I think the hospitals power wash the sidewalks. Its not so clean in other areas. The weekly street cleaning posted only shows up about every two weeks. So people move their cars for nothing on some streets. You are lucky if you are on a street sweeper block because otherwise you get endless campers that never move and live in front of your home. Then you have to lock up your hose, water heater and bolt down your windows. The campers will steal the hot water from your water heater using your garden hose.

That's fast. Some projects drag on for 5 years. I figure somebody loses their shirt when this happens. The finisher probably buys out the starter for peanuts because of a sewer drain that needs to drain uphill. I see a lot of work slowdowns and wonder what happened.

@@Hollywoodchupacabra my neighbor sold his house in 2007 the person who bought it added a room put 200 thousand into it then the crash happened and the same guy bought it back for half of what he sold it for

And then about 5 years ago he decided to add another room and had to move the gas meter. Turns out he had to get permits to cut into the street. The permits and street work cost him an extra 50 thousand. Win some lose some
