something is missing
Someone mentioned that Steve did the best or better version of Little Wing than the others even over the song writer himself and I will say Steve plays a great rendition and I have been a huge fan of him even to the point of purchasing his VHS tutorial guitar videos which by the way were a amazing resource at the time To learn to play some very cool licks. But Hendrix in his rawness played the song as he felt it and considering it was recorded and only played live for such a short time you would hear the rawness and grittiness as such, Second to Hendrix would be Stevie Ray Vaughan again another great musician who’s life was cut short Played his rendition flawlessly So my point is it’s relative to one perception of who may be better at something with time to develop their skill to perform such of an iconic song and there are more to come. Steve is an amazing song writer and Guitarist and don’t want to take away anything his accomplishment .
U ain't heard Jean Mann
Masterpiece ! Steve Lukather est une légende !
Luke is da man!!!
Steve just has it all. Any player that can go through Luke's catalog and correctly play even a small percentage of it is doing very well for themselves.
Wow
Nothing like a crappy phone recoding.
man you could have done with being 50 rows forward of that position
Nice tone, and salute to the Derek and Dominos version at the very end. Hah, it's like every bass player has to play Teen Town. Every guitarist from Jeff Beck on down has to tackle Little Wing. But only one of the guitar greats wrote it. And wrote a bunch of other great songs, too. The songs are what make Jimi eternal, not his ability to fiddle around on the fretboard.
Damn Steve !
The drummer is a little too unfamiliar with the stranger measure breaks that happen
At the Ringo Starr All Starr Band show, Luke did a joke about how they were gonna break into a 23 minute jazz odyssey, a la Spinal Tap. . . I was bummed knowing it was only a joke! Love his stories too.
Wow, I've heard of him him, of course, but never seen him play...he is really musical... it's not so much flashy tricks and such.... he is D efinately one of the finest ..... bravo!
Dope as usual. Steve Vai does a fabulous version as well. Both play it their own way and it's all butter baby.🎉
Luke, c'mon man, How bout changing it up, seriously everyone plays Little Wing. How bout your version of Third Stone from the Sun.🤨. Just sayin!
I thought he was touring with Ringo.
ルカサーは好きだけど、この曲はジミヘンの足元にも及ばない、他の人のカバー皆ジミヘンにほ程遠い。早弾きやテクニックじゃないと思う。
My high opinion of him just went up another fret.
I just loved Luke on the Les Paul dedication with his Little Wing rendition. That was the first time I was introduced to Luke, what a player.
Anyone surprised by the quality of Steve's playing hasn't been paying attention. He's one of his generation's greatest players and also a humble and truly kind guy. Ask anyone who watched him grow up at Art's Deli on Ventura Blvd. in the Valley who know him since he was a kid. My many interactions with Steve since the 80s bear all of that out.
Yeah,, just "Beat it" and "I'll Talk to you Later". Steve and his bandmates were the music that so many others got the credit for, but I guess it's only "Human Nature".
Honestly he was one of the original face melting shredder guys.
🎉Lukather has no grace ...can't play Hendrix well. He's a butcher!
He is an icon
Too much distortion.
Lawrence Juber plays his version on acoustic. No distortion!
Steve played the greatest version of Little Wing since Hendrix. He has the heart and soul of Hendrix. I've heard a lot of musician play this in my lifetime and this is hands down the best. Sorry SRV.
calm down...
Put down your phone , you're there to watch him live.
🤣 Right, but your watching it cuz this guy was videoing it! 😳😂 But actually, I was thinking the same thing, like, I wish those idiots with phones recording would stop so I can better look at the whole stage and everybody on it. 🙄🤣 ✌🏼
Holy shit this was awesome thank you!!
My god this PA sounds incredible
I absolutely LOVE this. It's like Steve is "channeling." Long live this music!💟
close your eyes and it sounds like Gene Simmons at first. hahaha!
Steve is freaking amazing. If Jimi had 30 more years to play guitar…what if?
What if ...
This luxuriates in tone and feel. Very good interpretation. One criticism though: the bravura speed runs take the listener out of the song. Do those elsewhere. Something that's not as good as this one is. This is Hendrix as a writer. Your interpretation does honor to him as a writer. We already know you can play fast. Your job is to make the music work emotionally. You don't need to audition for a gig. You already have it.
Steve takes an original and makes it better....period.
Diduldidimuldidimulldi. Also good.
In my opinion no one plays Little Wing better than Luke. Not Hendrix, not SRV... And certainly not Vai, Satriani, Malmsteen and all the other shredders who wank Little Wing to destruction! No one! Luke owns this song, and I don't care what other people think!
Right or wrong, you're entitled to your opinion. Also, nobody cares what you think either.
Yes okay buddy.........LOL
Bro. YES. Absolutely 😊❤
@@pmkrak Great👍
I always have thought Jeff Becks version is amazing
ok. The main solo is nice but he didn't catch the feeling of the whole song.
Could you explain to me what's the feeling of the whole song? This song touched me way more than other's versions I've listened so far
@@Pedroguitarbr A lazy, romantic, and sometimes dangerous swing that gives the voluptuous impression of stumbling through life.Swing is the key.
Nice Work! WooF!!🐶🐶
superb!
J'entends rien
Awesome 🎸 ❤ 🔥 🔥 🔥
Brilliant guitarist
Leave jimi in heaven,please.
Steve is the best Hendrix cover artist going , just Great!!
I give that statement to Eric Johnson
Randy Hansen
Would say Uli Jon Roth is the best guitarwise but, my god, this one is also very good (and Luke's voice is the best for sure)
immenso
Awesome....😊😊😊😊😊
Outstanding
verry nice....maybee...a litle bit more bracks..??
Sounded like a fucking hurricane alarm holy shit. Very epic man probably the most peaceful sound ever.
If I ever get the chance to see a wild wolf I would howl at it and see if it would howl back
It would probably run away because it’s scared of you..
Or it would smell you before taking a bite
musical and enchanting
thanks for posting this. I use your jam over this cool backing track as the benchmark for where I want to get to next with my ability to jam.
