      Hi, you post something 14 hours ago, I should be allowed to answer within a day or two. I saw your comment the first time you wrote it, and I am still trying to figure out, which part you do mean. Please have a look in the description, the files are all available for download. If you are a Soldworks user, the animation is included in the part. If you do not how to create animations in Solidworks, you should search for tutorials on the matter. Explaining is not possible through comment posting. First of all, there is nothing flexible on that assembly. Flexible is something that is able to bend, twist etc. If you mean the part that has a ball joint, that should get from a R/C helicopter main rotor. That mechanism on the helicopter, is also capable to rotate the blades. Also, search for videos on "rc helicopter main rotor assembly". Again, to ne honest, this video is missing a lot of details on many points. My experience comes from building remote controlled airplanes and helis and this is where this video is aimed at. I hope I helped a bit.

    Good animation for a radio controlled aircraft application. Keep in mind that this is not the way a real aircraft (not a model aircraft) CSP Constance speed propeller) works. Real CSP needs oil pressure and a controller along with various other parts to complete the operation. Check out other channels on Constant Speed Propellers for further information.

      Hi, as you saw there is a servo trying to keep the desired pitch of the prop blades. So, yes indeed, this isn't a how a CSP works. I have seen the videos. It was intended for a radio controlled aircraft. Also, this seems, as a rather stressful job for the servo to keep the desired pitch. A more sturdy mechanism is needed there. Thank you for your comment.

    you have weak point -connection between blade and hub-i think to make this and big problem is centrifugal force of blade- for standard plastic 10x6 ,2 blade , fixed pich prop, i cut blade on segments per 1 cm to determine weight of it to be able to calculate force, it means that for that prop, at 18000 rpm centrifugal force is about 2000N, so thiny screw and same bearing would breake at this force

    • @johnnygritz2065
      @johnnygritz2065 4 роки тому

      Thank you for you comment. This rough design is an idea of a mechanism constructed of aluminium and steel parts for a wooden prop about 25in in dia and spinning around 2500 rpm. I haven't work the math, I am thinking something like the parts of a rc heli main rotor where the main blades are attached to. Your comments are welcome.

    • @makantahi3731
      @makantahi3731 4 роки тому

      i think to do it but forces are problem so i made some design that could be enought powerfull with ordinary materials. second problem is part of centrifugal force that pushes blades on low pitch and it is bigger as rpm rises , so must install counter weights but it starts to grow in dimensions, but i need it small. i have rc airplane with big flaps and i need variable pitch to be able for revers thrust after touch down because runway is short

    • @johnnygritz2065
      @johnnygritz2065 4 роки тому

      @@makantahi3731 I am thinking more like a 50 -100 cc gas engine warbird airplane, where I can live with heavier stuff in my construction. Thanks for pointing out the change of pitch with more rpm. Definitely that servo alone won't be able to keep the blade pitch steady, I 'll keep that in mind. A mechanism with a leadscrew or something similar might be able to keep the pitch at the desired angle more efficiently. Thanks again for your comment.

    • @makantahi3731
      @makantahi3731 4 роки тому

      for bigger things is easier, in shop can be found standard bearings that can hold high axial forces of blades and you can use normal size screws , for my plane it has to be about 2 mm screws, and bearings belovw10mm

    Hi

  • @johnnygritz2065
    @johnnygritz2065 5 років тому

    Sorry for the late reply. This is a simple design really from the mechanical point of view on how to get the pitch change on the prop blades. This is achieved by a servo as you saw. I do not understand the controller part you are mentioning. If there is one, it sends a signal so the servo motor rotates the servo arm. Maybe there are other things as well connected to the controller, such as a pitot tube for the airspeed or a rpm sensor or an altimeter, so the controller contributes to a more efficient flight but all these sensors should not rotate. Forgive me if I missed something. This design is more suited towards remote controlled aircraft where smaller engines are used. No external oil supply is needed. If it is still needed in your case, I am assuming it is for the engine which again should not rotate. Again, if I am missing something please provide more info. If you're joking... good one, made me right all this for no reason. Thanks for asking.

  • @irpat54
    @irpat54 5 років тому

    Laswr cutting? Curious why the big gear reduction? Looks like you’re sacrificing a lot of potential speed for efficiency.

    • @johnnygritz2065
      @johnnygritz2065 6 років тому

      Hi, no laser cutting here. At least not yet. This machine cuts mostly wood. You can see a Makita router at some point. The blue DOW you see is used for fast cuts in order to get an idea of the final result without sacrificing wood. You can also see, two blue pipes for coolant for tool lubrication and cooling when the machine cuts aluminium. The big gear reduction is not that big. It is 3.75:1 It offers both torque and resolution. Even so, this machine manages rapids of 6000 mm / min (236 ipm).
