Revisting, been singing this almost since it was first realeased. I transcribed this into sheet music back in the day when no arrangements of this exsisted yet, to my surprise there is now an official arrangement available for this piece. How the years go by.

its insensitive to sing the songs we did from a white composer as a overwhelming white choir. i was embarrassed to be a part of this.
I understand and appreciate your perspective. However, I would like to remind you that the music was about Freedom everywhere. The music you sang included songs from the British Suffragette Movement of the 1910s and 1920s, to the Latvian Freedom Movement of the 1980s, in addition to the Civil Rights Movement of the 1950s and 1960s and beyond. Choirs of all backgrounds need to know these important movements, their music, what they stand for, and what people fought (and continue to fight) for. Especially now, these messages of Freedom and Rights need to be heard and sung. That's how we learn and grow. I'm thankful you were a part of this project and I hope you are able to consider this perspective as you look back on this performance.
