I received a single cutting of this Epiphyllum Hooker's Orchid Cactus several years ago and it has now finally bloomed! These large, showy, white, sweet fragrant flowers blooms in the summer for only one night and will close by morning. Epiphyllum Hookeri is a species of climbing cactus in the Epiphyllum genus. It is native from Mexico through Central America to Venezuela. Epiphyllums are hardy to about 50°F (10°C) but require at least 60°F (15°C) during the growing season. My Epiphyllum Strictum is grown indoors in a pot and I will take it outside for spring, summer, and fall. The pot is placed in bright, filtered light with moderate to high humidity.
