Flickering was caused by enabling some patch, I dont remember which one; disabling MSAA or shadows maybe.

@dock6 Thank you, I'll experiment because I really hate the flickering and rn the only way I know how to fix it is to turn off the 2 times render scaling but then it looks fuzzy.

Never tried, so cant say for sure. Best bet is to try finding a trainer/mod menu for the game, but youll need to be able to mod the game files (more details in the linked reddit post)

It’s the first Audi r8 so it’s a v8 and every v8 in the game doesn’t sound as good as it could

Facts

Resolution: search for draw_resolution_x and draw_resolution_y in the xenia_canary_config.toml file in your xenia-canary folder, and set both of them to either 2 (1440p) or 3 (4K) For the FPS, Ive set Vsync to "True" in the same config file. If you want 60 FPS you will need to set Vsync to False and then download this patch file and enable 60FPS Fix github.com/xenia-canary/game-patches/blob/main/patches/545407F8%20-%20Midnight%20Club%20Los%20Angeles.patch.toml (google how to use patches if youre not aware) HOWEVER: the game is not stable at 60 FPS. Your car/camera will start jittering noticeably, and theres a chance that the game will soft lock when teleporting to your garage or starting some races. MY RECOMMENDATION is that you play it at 30 with Vsync on.

There are a few files that list (presumably) all the preset cars and their drivers in the game files. Ill try to find the most relevant ones and upload them to the MC Discord

Ill be posting a guide on how to do this soon, its a bit tedious to reach the game's files in the first place. Im trying to see if I can unlock the Social Club locked customization parts first. But if you (or anyone else reading this) already have access to the MCLA files then look for "0xe94bde63" in this directory: xarchive_cache.rpf/tune/vehicle, open it in any text editor and you can search for the Audi R8 and delete the Social Club requirement lines.

Which hydraulics are social club only? Im only aware of the TIS Modular wheels (which I am currently trying to add to the garage but its proving to be a bit difficult)

@@dock6 why does it run so well on your system. i get drops to 25 on a 3080ti and 3700x. did u do anything besides enabling those patches?

@@remic.7947 Done nothing beyond using patches; Im using the Canary build of Xenia if that makes any difference but the main build usually updates quick enough anyway. Here's a link to the patches if you need them: github.com/xenia-canary/game-patches/archive/main.zip Find the Midnight Club LA patch file and open it with a text editor to enable the 4 patches inside it. It should make the game run a lot better (but it might get more jittery at high FPS)

Default settings with vsync on. This is running on the Xenia-Canary build though

@@dock6 for some reason it's laggy for me in game. I have a decent setup so I'm not sure why it would be doing that. Any suggestions?

@@flowsy5294 even on the canary (github.com/xenia-canary/xenia-canary/releases) build? Im not sure then, I just run it as-is out of the box minus enabling Vsync I suppose. There is often some slowdowns going through certain areas of the map (like South Central), but otherwise it should be fine.

@@dock6 Should i use the original MCLA? I was playing the Complete Edition. Or does it not matter?

@@flowsy5294 Im running the Complete Edition. Im not sure if there are any differences in performance between the original release and CE.

It just default settings, but with vsync enabled in the config (located in my documents/xenia). The xenia-canary build on github (github.com/xenia-canary/xenia-canary/releases) seems to have better performance than this, and im currently on that with the default settings (no vysnc either).

@@3mory667 master is the stable release, canary builds are experimental/work-in-progress type stuff. Best bet is to try both and see which works for you of course. The build in the video is xenia-master dated 19th August 2021; I currently use xenia-canary 25th August 2021.

@@3mory667 saves wont be affected whether you update or switch b/w master and canary. In case you want to back them up, theyre located in My Documents/Xenia/Content/

Thanks; its honestly amazing how much progress has been made with these emulators. Xenia's "canary" builds (found on their github page) give better performance for MCLA if you want to try playing through it. RPCS3 has the most accurate emulation afaik (no reflection bug, vinyls works, etc.) but the FPS is still quite unacceptable for regular play.

because its an stand alone sound with proper coding made to it, GTA V default coding makes the files pitch weirdly
