Hey everyone,
It's been a while since my last cover. I don't produce these or play piano full time. Whenever I have some free time on my hands and am feeling a bit creative, I'll try to bang some of these covers out. It's always fun to arrange these, but one problem I find myself facing constantly is to keep up the momentum from start to finish alongside my daily life.
Anyways, this is my piano arrangement of 사탕 from Seventeen's latest mini album. I've really been enjoying the waltzy and slightly jazzy air to it, and it's always served as a relaxing tune to go back to at the end of the day.
To be honest, I'm not well verse in music theory, so I can't really comment on the stylistic choices I made throughout the cover. All I can really say is that I just like to switch things up from one major segment to the next. That dynamic, non-mundane playstyle is always something I crave when I seek music to play, so I hope I've done a good job applying it here.
I did want to extend the beautiful waltz section in the closing part of the song. It's one of my favorite tunes for the song, and I wanted to add to it by make the transition longer and add more effect to it in a way that blends the vocals into the piano, starting from 2:28.
I know my track record seems to comprise primarily of SEVENTEEN's songs. I mean, Woozi's kind of a genius. I do have thoughts on branching out further in the near future, and I want to be more proactive about writing up and playing more covers in the future. [I actually have a bunch of covers already written for 하품 (Yawn), 어떤 미래 (What Kind of Future) and 돌고 돌아 (Circle), but I just haven't really gotten time to refine them to a point where I can play from start to finish. Anyways, just an personal problem I have to resolve)].
